this is HAPPENING? i thought it was a joke
This could go … a lot of ways, but if they give it a nice prestige drama budget and visuals, and if they pull from Lemony Snicket's Unauthorized Autobiography (the coolest book in the entire series), it could work well.
It doesn't really tie into the Runaways concept until the second issue, really. I kinda liked seeing their take on it when they finally got there, though.
Why do I feel like he's already been on the show as a recurring character for three seasons?
Black Widow #20: Mixed feelings about this issue! It would have benefited from being about 5 pages longer. It also treated you to some ridiculous dialogue like "Shall I kill the child?". I think the nonstop emotionless killing in this issue is a little offputting and shock-value oriented. I can sort of like it when…
I'm a big fan of his covers, which feel like anything but Lee/Liefeld art.
I <3 this book. I love the Soule/Pulido She-Hulk tie-ins, too.
Jean Grey was known for years as Marvel Girl.
I honestly don't mind if they hold off on that idea until Ms. Marvel has a year or two more of published issues on her belt. It would probably help if her personality and aspects of her personal life were more clearly set in stone before other people tried to look at that character and adapt her to a different medium.
I realize that this is the requisite "comment by a sexist who refuses to engage with what actually happened onscreen" that you get on every one of these articles, but I'll take this opportunity to say how cool Clea is!
Something tells me that if Bruce Timm did that, it would be a lot more grimdark and a lot more cheesecakey than people would want it to be.
And how about that amazing animation? They had Phil Bourassa character designs and an amazingly sleek look. Cartoon Network does genuinely care about putting out good cartoons.
Nobody has mentioned Item 47 but Item 47 is actually a very fun short that has Lizzy Caplan in it so I recommend it, because Lizzy Caplan.
Exactly! I can't handle the people who saw Iron Man 3 and wanted there to be a "real Mandarin" - did they even watch the movie?
I really wish they had allowed Spider-Woman's glasses to transform into a full mask like Kris Anka suggested in his initial designs! The "sunglasses in place of masks" trend is very weird, and I think it really is something that detracts from the idea that these people are superheroes.
She shifts into inanimate objects around issue 4 or 5. The thing is, recent issues imply that she might not have that power anymore - that it was the result of her morphing powers being "supercharged" when she first got them.
Her series from the 70s is really interesting as a look into a very morbid, melancholy character who's central conflict is more-or-less "I don't know if I'm human."
If you're reading Lazarus, you should probably check out Queen & Country and Stumptown.
I think it's actually more related to whatever's going on with the Kingpin right now in Waid's DD, rather than Secret Wars … but it could be both, or just the latter.
