I'm a little annoyed by the notion that this is the absolute first time Matt's been a prosecutor (I know Soule basically said it isn't right before that, but still!), and I'm a little concerned by the lack of Kirsten McDuffie, which tells me Mark Waid might be on the verge of making a very cliched writing choice in

Bird does amazing work, but it would be VERY weird to see his Randian-leaning philosophy interact with the themes of collectivism and interchangability in Black Widow stuff.

Technically, the Young Avengers were given official status after Children's Crusade? I think? I dunno, it's probably not healthy to think too long about who technically "counts" as an Avenger.

This run on Secret Avengers was pretty good and the closest to realizing the promise of the book's title since Warren Ellis's six-issue stint.

I mean, I just read some more comments that make me doubt my own position, so I wouldn't sweat it. I do think that this article didn't do a great job of laying out the atmosphere, though.

They are, for the most part, the polar opposite of bronies?

Out of this list, I think Liam James is the best pick. He gives very convincing, understated performances and just oozes awkwardness when you need it, which is perfect for Peter Parker. Although, I have no idea if he can pull off the jokes.

I disagree that the second half of the season was worse (it's where I finally got to the point where I couldn't wait to start the next episode), but I do agree that this episode was kiiiiind of underwhelming, for all the reasons that Oliver said. Out of the whole series, it's the part that felt most like a superhero

Don't worry, he was going to "cut through the noise," like Doris told him. He was just gonna cut right through it. All that noise.

Oh no, Steven DeKnight said killing Ben Urich was completely Marvel's idea. They laid it out to him before he took the job. He sounded like he was pretty surprised about it.

Weird that they would base it on her awkwardly belted movie costume and also make it look somehow cheaper than her Avengers costume.

The thing about Azzarello's run is that it has equal parts great stuff (that amazing art, the take on the Greek gods, his incorporation of Fourth World stuff) and absolutely terrible stuff antithetical to her core character (his take on the Amazons as mean, murderous almost-rapists, the existence of male Amazons for

I think part of it is just how he applies this stuff to the Final Fantasy series - they'd come out much different if the series played like Persona or anything like that. Just look at his designs for The World Ends With You. They were modern (at the time), hip, and extremely diverse, ranging from a simple button-up

I heard it was disagreement over just how bad Scott Lang could be. Like, Edgar Wright had him as a full-out criminal, but Marvel was worried about their image, especially for the kids or something or whatever. But apparently, this isn't even a problem anymore now that GOTG did well with a roguish lead.

Nocenti's run was perfect at taking the big ideas Miller introduced, building on them, and making them working on a monthly basis in a shared universe. We're lucky that she was next on the book instead of Steve Englehart (who wanted to move DD and Widow to the West Coast Avengers!).

Blegh, he was a terrible writer for the book and that duo. Listen to this: he made Natasha homeless because the lease went up on her San Francisco mansion and she somehow couldn't find a job, despite the fact that she was the ~world's greatest spy trained in a dozen disciplines and careers. He hated them as partners

Ian Herring's warm and grainy colors are also doing wonderful work in setting the tone for Silk and Ms. Marvel.

I read issue 1 which was mired in bad Dan Slott crossover plot and bad Greg Land art, then skipped to issue 5 which was pretty fantastic. I plan to keep reading as long as they keep this direction. They're building up a supporting cast, too, starting with Ben Urich. It doesn't really have the melodrama of her original

I didn't have the same problems other people seem to have with Season 3? I had to force myself to get through Season 2 - it was a big drop from the excitement and fun of Season 1 that attracted me in the first place. I think Season 3 brought back some of what was missing.

… Can't you just do that if you click on the category name above the row?
