It was on SNL itself that she told us “rhymes with inertia”, so I’m good for life on that.

An aesthetic detail that pops up from time to time on What We Do In The Shadows that I really like is the suggestion that vampires, being eternal, can get stuck in certain time periods when it comes to fashion and interior design.”

My favorite Google Calendar feature is the one where it adds events that it thinks I have upcoming because somebody else emailed me about them. Like my brother’s trip to London (cancelled anyway, guess why), which he sent me his itinerary for, and it appeared on my calendar.

Meanwhile...Mr. Bones is also the name of a minstrel show character, so, odd decision to remind us of the name.

Last-name-only is a standard strategy, because if you get the first name wrong, it’s wrong, but if you don’t give it (and it’s not ambiguous) it’s correct.

I watched it and can’t swear to this, but I think both DDs in the DJ round were second-row clues, which is uncharacteristic and might have contributed to his not getting them, because he used his control on the lower rows, which is usually right.

Yeah, there was some reddit speculation that his thinking on FJ was “obviously it’s Austria, but...what if it’s somehow not?”

Right, and this is indirectly what pissed me off (irrationally): by doing that, he made it crystal clear that the winning strategy is “win the buzzer fight, then know the answer”. And it’s hard to get interested in a “win the buzzer fight” game, especially when we can’t see the buzzer at all.

If piracy doesn’t hurt game sales, why is opposing piracy “simping for corporations?”

I imagine that JW being picked had a lot to do with CC being the showrunner, given that he also produced and wrote Broadchurch, which gave her a lot of her star power.

Shh.  Pretend there was a defender just out of frame.

TESB ends with everyone barely having survived except the one guy who got frozen in a block.  Unless Nate’s really supposed to be a football Wunderkind after all, seeing him at West Ham didn’t fill me with dread, just “k, bye”.

I didn’t even recognize Richardson last week; it’s the closest I’ve seen to a dramatic role for him, and he was great.

I ‘m seeing a pattern here that I’ve seen elsewhere (including on this site), and I’d like to draw attention to it:

He’s a good-friend-of-a-good-friend of my sister, and I can fourth-hand confirm that he’s super-nice.

Where’s Cyborg?

Teo Briones” sound like the name of a drag performer who’s impersonating Tea Leoni.

I like that Pat has a photo of himself as a kid sidekick -- or maybe “former kid sidekick”, I guess -- in which he has a three-day growth of beard.

This is the most relevant possible response, and now I feel like Marshall McCluhan showed up from just out of frame and said “Yes, that’s exactly what I meant.”

I don’t know about “nothing to do with Netflix”; if Netflix wanted, they could have demanded the original aspect ratio from Sony.  I’m not saying it would have made sense, but we shouldn’t go on about how Netflix has nothing to say about it.
