I don’t know about the UK at all, but in the US, $15 is the normal price for HBO as a cable channel. HBO Max is literally everything on HBO plus a bunch more stuff. In fact, of the services this guy listed, only Amazon also rents arbitrary content, the stuff that’s advertised as “available on digital starting Tuesday”. All the others are fixed-price subscription services only.

For the record, HBO Max/PS4/Xfinity works fine now.

Completely irrelevant to your meaning, but there’s a copy/paste mangling in your posting that is exactly like one I had yesterday on this site: some italics text escaped the format and got moved to the front of its paragraph.  

Because, for broadcast TV, it was 100% typical to not watch every episode of a show. That’s why they used to say you have to do the pilot 6 times.
