Interesting fact: Rick Perry majored in animal husbandry at Texas A&M because he thought he’d get to fuck livestock.

That poor horse.

Yes at the box office but the studio only gets a % of that right? There is also PR expenses too. I am sure with product placement, blu-rays, and tv rights they broke even but that was not a big money maker.

They choose to accept what they get when they sign their contracts. They can also choose not to. When you make a movie, you can choose to pay the actors you want whatever you want and it is up to them to sign on or tell you to fuck off.

The only non Superman movie he’s done since Man of Steel was The Man from U.N.C.L.E, which was a flop. So you are right, but it’s a tiny sample size. Hard to say what non-Superman draw he really has.

I don’t believe he’s been flat out paid what the article said, unless bonuses and points for performance are included. But he’s certainly earned a healthy paycheck. The two movies were he’s been Superman have made over $1.5 billion dollars. The one he starred in did over $600 million. Not including ancillary

Box Office Mojo has “Joy” listed as only making $50 million or so on a budget $60 million. I guess it touches $100 if you want to include worldwide, but those are always kind of weird, given that studios get a much tinier percentage of the gross from various countries. But then again, I think other countries are much

1) Your point about Jennifer Lawrence is correct. She would’ve commanded significantly more than Gal Gadot per film if she had been cast as Wonder Woman. She hits all the (fair and unfair) benchmarks studios look for in actresses that they will pay big bucks for: young (under 35), probably white, attractive, history

I’d say this writeup is still flawed, as it doesn’t note that the Godot number was her fee for the movie while the Caville number was total compensation. This was mentioned in the Fusion writeup but was likely left out here because there’s no way that was a “misunderstanding.”

The other take-away from this article is that no one can confirm that $14m figure. The same website that reported that $14m figure puts Cavill’s total net worth at only $8m.

That figure is extremely implausible right out of the gate. The only way I think it would be possible is if it was some sort of contract payout

One detail I seem to remember from the Elle article was that Cavill’s salary (if it even is accurate at all) included bonuses, which Gadot could/probably will get as well. I don’t have any idea how the base pay relates to the bonuses, but comparing $300k with $14M is entirely useless if we’re not including the same

I know this is just a joke, but I’m kinda disappointed in how the gay jokes came out for this. Men don’t get as many chances to experiment with fashion/clothing/style, and if they do, their masculinity is often called into question (as is their heterosexuality). There’s nothing wrong with not being a super-macho guy

It’s like Stefon goes music industry charts: they have everything! US and worldwide itunes charts for songs and albums, radio charts, youtube and spotify streams... it’s amazing.

Masshole James showing up to this thread all

ugh Joy was so terrible.

We just got Prime and I rewatched SATC for the first time in years. By season 4 I was fast forwarding through all of her solo storylines.

But, the ladies love him. Hell, I know an author who models all of her characters in her books on him and is a member of so many facebook groups about him. Calls herself and middle-aged women like her, Cavill’s girls. They are why he makes so much money, because they go and see any old piece of crap he is in and are

They all look like stereotypical representations of the guys at my university, minus the viking beard guys, the goths/metalheads/punks (they are a mixed group here) and the one guy who always wears a tophat no matter the weather.

Gurl, 6-year old me was ALL about hyper masculine stereotypes. There was a reason I was in love with Magnum PI. Dat mustache!
