CS:GO is 3 years old but as someone who has played CS since it was a mod in beta, the game has barely changed in the 15~ years it’s been out. Counterstrike in any form is an old ass game.

Generally a sport is defined as an athletic competition. I watch competitive MOBA evens all the time, but I hesitate to call them a sport.
It’s almost like no one has seen this movie and all your questions are to be answered once the film is actually released. Maybe watch it and see? Just a suggestion. Or you can judge an entire film based on a couple trailers.
Very easy to gank with a stun/root/polymorph. He can’t self heal if he can’t attack. Hes squishy and drps fast. He’s a strong hero but people are making way too big a deal about him. He’s currently rocking a very solid but unimpressive 50% win rate on HOTSLOGS. Meh.
Any stun stops it. Uther, Anub, Muradin. Brightwings polymorph. Murkys octo grab. Probably any number of things I can’t think of at the moment.
Amazing game. One of my all time favorites and a great spin on the Civ franchise. Instead of focusing on tech trees the game is very heavily focused on trade and to a lesser extend exploration (need that native gold). To gain advances for your civilization you do recruit founding fathers through liberty bell…
Nope, he’s not cheating. And if he is it’s certainly not in public. Just a controlled leak/photo op to keep the scandal factor up.
His ult is OP, I’ll give you that. It can wreck a whole team, but as a hero overall he’s certainly not OP. Stuns and polymorphs wreck him. Zeratul can easily harass and/or kill him depending on the situation. He’s like Illidan. You have to be very selective about when you go all in otherwise you are toast.
While I doubt it’s true, it’s possible to port something over pretty quickly. My company did an internal XB1 -> PS4 port with a small team in a matter of weeks. If you know your engine/hardware it’s not difficult. The difficulty is optimization, and thats where they dropped the ball.
The standardized architecture certainly helps with ports. It’s partially an issue that things are so optimized for the XB1/PS4 hardware and not for PC. Sure the PC has the power of brute force, but without proper driver optimization that will only get you so far. The fact that WB/Rocksteady opted out of performance…
Ports are outsourced every which way to Sunday, usually. A lot of the these studios rely heavily on jr-mid level engineers as well. Porting a game and doing engine performance takes a lot of engineering know-how. It’s not something you can throw a jr. or even mid level engineer at most of the time.
I have to wonder how much money they have left. The game has raised $85m in three years. I work for a game studio that makes a product of similar but probably lesser technical scope than Star Citizen and I know our studio burns over $1m a month in overhead, probably closer to 1.5m these days. Depending on how well…
Gamers like to complain about bad AI, or lack of AI advancement in games. The truth is there is a deliberate choice to keep AI scaled back. No one actually wants realistic AI. Realistic AI is going to be as smart as you the player, or smarter. It would make for a frustrating game, not a fun one.
“will be more meditative than anything else.”
Not totally true, it’s a digital good with monetary value. It has tax implications. There is cost associated with giving these things away. It’s marginal though.
“spend the time and expense to actually work on it in house so they do not have much faith with the pc platform.”
Like all things it’s not that black and white. For one thing, if you know you are going to get a game day 1, reviews be damned (last time I did this was Bioshock:Infinite), then you might as well pre-order and get the goodies.
Spoken like a man who’s never played Superman 64.
So I’m a PC gamer, I don’t have a new console yet but I’m seriously thinking about it. I’ll always play PC first, but I’m tired of these shitty ports.
Because Rocksteady has little to nothing to do with the port. It’s a completely different company, managed by that company. If anything it’s WB’s fault. Rocksteady doesn’t QA test the PC version. You’ve clearly never worked in a development studio. Stop acting like it.
