There are certain points when I write fiction that I ask myself “is this clearly evil & cautionary plot device going to turn people away from or encourage people to build this dystopian McGuffin in real life?”, and I fear its usually the latter, so I shelve those stories as to not put out even more bad ideas into to

I can’t tell you how many times I have confused the two on voice alone, especially when Bogosian does animated work.

Came here for a band comment, leaving satisfied!

I watched a film called “Dogs Don’t Wear Pants” on Shudder this weekend about a guy who got into being choked by a dom after nearly drowning, and some of that same Dom/Dog energy was palpable between those two on this episode of “Andor”. I could definitely see that happening to a much lesser degree on this show.

That one gave me the willies back in the day. And not the Groundskeeper Willies! I think its because the Twilight Zone movie version STILL wigs me out and I associated that fear with that Simpsons segment.

As a person who works in hospitality dealing with over-entitled people regularly, this show had me crawling in my skin. I mistook this show for “The Resort” at first, expecting a mystery (and I did end up watching that show later, which was fantastic!), and instead just got a big dose of rich people behaving badly.

I would have added the entirety of The Misfits’ catalog and “The Body Lover” by Jarboe.

Pretty much the entirety of “Murder Ballads” could have made the list

I had the EXACT same reaction! I thought “I never thought I would live in a world where Takashi Miike would be directing a Disney+ series, and yet, here we are.” Same thing about Zim back in the day too! I was like “Did they not look into Vasquez’ previous body of work?

Now just hear me out. The Beastie Boys somehow learn of Spock during his time traveling adventure to 20th century California during “A Voyage Home.”

I have not, but I am a huge manga fan, so I will check it out! One of the things I liked about the “Lone Wolf & Cub” manga was how it did a deep dive into a lot of ninja culture. If  “Shinobi no Kuni” does the same I am all for it!

Came here to say the same thing. The studio that did “Arcane” got it right. This show though? Not so much. A smoother frame rate would fix a lot of what is jarring with “Exception”, as with a bulk of CGI shows on Netflix.

Or Battlestar Galactica for that matter.

If they center the story around the historical Iga clan, there is a lot of story and game play mechanics they could work with, since Iga ninja were trained in disguise, escape, concealment, explosives, medicine, and poisons, as well as more conventional forms of warfare such as unarmed combat and various forms of

Whoops! I stand corrected! Good catch!

I was the exact same way. I feel like he was pretty much destined to become a Mars scientist with a name like that! Maybe even one day a Mars Prince! Ha ha!

Came here for “A Princess of Mars” reference about John Carter, leaving satisfied.

It’s a harsh reality. “Living the dream” doesn’t always mean that it’s a pleasant one. I feel your pain!
