China builds Teslas better than Tesla does.

Our military budget is 820 billion, so why can’t we spend 15 billion investing in EV infrastructure and push development from U.S. automakers? At this point it seems like a national security issue.

I think that’s Tesla

You’re reading too much into my question. I’m not suggesting they should or should not. It’s a legitimate question. If these dealers don’t have access to other VAG products (and I don’t know if they do/do not), why are they insisting access to Scout?

I guess the question I’d ask is “Can a VW dealership sell an Audi; can it sell a Porsche; can it sell a Lamborghini All those are independent brands, owned by VAG. If a VW dealer has no right to those brands, why would they have a right to Scout?

The costs are such that automakers will do nothing but wait out the clock until someone less-idiotic is in the White House. It’ll be at most four more years, and their revenues aren’t such that it makes sense to even think about building new plants in the US. First, because the cost would likely never be recouped.

Asking a Canadian Conservative what the carbon tax is is basically the same thing as asking an American Conservative what a tariff is.

I would have, if they still sold a hatchback Versa. I don’t like trunks.

Cars.com shows 65 stick Versas for sale nationwide. Autotrader.com shows 72. Even if you assume there’s no overlap and take into account that some dealers use neither platform, There are probably less than 300 stickshift Versas available for sale

ND. Car is currently unmaintainable - the shift linkages (cables and mounts) are unique to the SVT and haven’t been available in years, and the solenoid for the dual runner intake is also unavailable and has been for a decade.  Both are considered standard wear items - car is undrivable as they wear out.

The Carfax shows miles in the 40k range a few years ago. Someone messed up a cluster replacement or something. This car has 50k miles, not 500k.

Have our modern capitalists not done their homework, or is a genuinely free and fair market not in their interests?

Take out the engine/transmission before it’s crushed.

He has the concept of a plan to deal with this by warming everything up so no more snow

80 minutes on average daily except Sunday. And I just turned 70. It's the easiest physical workout I do.

He likely has a doorman and on site valet. He doesn’t park-but he does pick and drop off at his door. This....doesn’t really help his case in most people’s eyes.

That’s the popular viewpoint. The reality is actually sadder. I’ve known a lot of military folks in my life; I’m related to quite a few. Both active duty and retired military have access to a wealth of resources. The problem is much thornier: it’s really hard to train a person to be bold enough to run fearlessly into

if you plan on seeing your kids, park one block over, save $9.

My hot take: If you notice a $9 fee to visit your kids, you either don’t really love your kids very much, or you’re not really that rich.
