First off… I love this article, and thank you for putting it together!
Of the cars in that list… the IDx still makes me sad. I’m not surprised Nissan didn’t build them given what they did to make a new Z, and what Toyota did to build a new Supra. We really need people to get back to buying small, nimble cars instead of stupid CUVs.
I know - that’s why I mentioned overall. The range is still very good comparatively speaking, and there’s a lot less range loss with Tesla in the winter. But it isn’t what they say it is for sure.
My aunt spends hundreds of days on cruise ships per year and when she told a story that was just like this - a group of people they saw at breakfast missed boarding time and spent five days and way more money than the cruise cost trying to get back on board - I reaffirmed my opinion that cruises are terrible ways to…
Yeah... it’s the thing I’m waiting on.
When you look at range, efficiency, and supercharger network? You’d still be hard pressed to find better. I do think it’s totally cool that people aren’t up on the minimalist design... and it would make sense to choose less of the things Tesla is good at and get the design they’re not good at.
Honestly... I think 3/4 of the drivers out there are inattentive.
That’s an old appliance to me. One with a nice party trick, but still old and crap. My old brain remembers when guys in high school were buying these for hundreds of dollars as ten year old beaters. Being over 10x that just hurts my head. Yeah, I know. Car market in 2024. Doesn’t mean I want to shell out $7k for…
I intentionally sought them out! I’ve only had my kitchen Peugeots a year, but so far are quite good. 🤞
A lot easier to talk than walk.
That seems way too reasonable.
I spent probably a half hour walking around one at a car show one year. The lights brought out all the different green and blue and purple flake that was in the paint. Expensive as hell to fix I’m sure… but looked amazing. Kind of a subtle mystichrome.
First Gear - it’s simply choice. People who were going to buy EV have choice now. And, they don’t have to give up on the Supercharger network either. Without the choice in the market, EV buyers would still buy Tesla regardless of Musk’s idiocy simply because they’re the best overall option. Choice is good!
Everybody keeps saying this here. Meanwhile, every time I encounter a Tesla on the road it’s going slower than everybody else. Maybe that’s a US thing?
I honestly want to know
Yep. I have a Miata in True Red. It’s ... nice. Might even be better than many automotive reds.
Heh... I wouldn’t replace the dropped 9 with a 0. :). Perhaps I’ll say a 3-digit number with 9's instead of a 4 digit number.
Throttlehouse tested this in their review too. Carrots...cans... all kinds of things can get mangled.
So... 56 miles on a charge. 43600 miles on the odometer. So at minimum, that battery pack has been charged 779 times. It’s likely quite a lot more since you’re not running it down to 0 before charging each time.
