Weird. I thought it was really well known that you don’t fuck with Disney’s lawyers.

If you don’t enjoy life and the thought of getting from A to B is terrifying, a Corolla is absolutely the right answer. Which is part of the reason why I think all the Corolla drivers of the world would rather be doing anything else when at then wheel than driving.
Heh... they are not super easy to fix.
I know where the market is now, but I just can’t help but think this should be a $2k car. The engine was actually kind of interesting at the time, but interesting came at a cost: The 3.4 needs more maintenance than a GM owner of the era might provide to achieve any sort of durability. It’s not like the GM push-rod…
Good news - EV’s don’t catch fire nearly as often as ICE vehicles do, so this might not be nearly as much of an issue as Jalopnik thinks it is.
You mean more than all the liquids that are in an ICE car?
I actually kinda love that colour. Can’t say that I’ve ever seen a car in baby puke yellow, but when it’s dressed up on a Cayenne, I don’t mind it. Weird.
It is pretty easy, really.
Something about the ad starting off with “Built for boost” and being followed up with engine-out pictures leads me to hesitate. I get that’s why many will be interested in the car - heck, my cousin is one of those guys who took a stock FR-S up to 400hp. This might actually be a great purchase for someone looking to…
That’s about it.
Heh. Just had a guy do this a couple days ago. I only use the left lane to actually pass. Which I was doing. Quite quickly actually...it just happened that the cars I was passing were spaced out a bit. I might have been able to tuck in between a couple of the cars I was passing, but with the speed I was going, I would…
Less then $4k for a diesel W126? I’m surprised the ad isn’t pulled yet. I’m in! NP.
It’s FAR superior.
I don’t entirely trust the JD Power data - mostly in how it’s sourced. I don’t think it would represent a very good sample of vehicles. I’d love to see actual data on it... but can’t seem to find anything.
That’s why I said “If” and “could”. I agree that the number on injuries on the low end could be near 0 (and I do think the likelihood of it being closer to zero is higher - they did test a sample of 900 cars and found 0 faults). The problem here is that there’s no way to guarantee that as the metal fatigues with age…
Yes - that’s true. It’s also why I say “could” - it’s a potential worst outcome (though an actual worst outcome is likely in the thousands - we just don’t know!). I’d say the likely outcome is somewhere between 17-18 and 140 because we could be talking about 6 lucky occupants in the original sample (which is too…
When I was much younger, I remember the introduction of rectangular headlights. I thought the future had arrived. Cars with round headlamps were so passe. Now when I look at this, I just wish it was a teeny bit older, and a lot less square.
I haven’t seen any actual data to support it. Just opinions and conjecture, therefore, myth. JD Power does have data that says it isn’t a big issue, and I’d welcome more. I tend to think that it’s something that can be filed along with Friday cars - simply not the problem people think it is.
Yeah... this could be a good story.
I’m super glad that you’ve staying in character with this one. :)
