hey I loved Mother! and I know it’s a movie crime but hey, I just love it. my point is it’s strange to see a movie so innocuous in a list like this

SPOILERS FOR OUATIH

We would also accept sexy.

That scene where the fisting training exercise ends in a fatal accident goes from hot to somber so quickly.

it’s not ad deep”

Why in the shit were there moon buggy pirates? *sigh*

I’d say enormously so, I wasn’t a fan of Frank either (and couldn’t see the point of it given that it didn’t resemble Sievey’s life in any way) whereas this is really fascinating stuff.

The Souvenir had amazing filmmaking for a story I almost cared nothing about. The filmmaking is strong enough for me to kinda like it. I think.

There’s a lot that’s not needed. I think if he shaved an hour off the film, it would be quite a bit better, at least. (pacing has been an issue for him ever since his editor Sally died). If you were ranking Tarantino films, where would Hollywood place? Quinten’s supposedly only going to make one more movie. He wasted

I’m with you (and I suspect you’re being polite). Hollywood is Quentin’s most shamelessly self-indulgent work, with an apprecaition for a corner of television so specifically niche, I’d argue it’s his alienating. Yes it’s got great historical detail. But outside of that, what is the movie doing to make me care about

I do not like them cooked with steam, not boiled or stewed or even creamed. I do not like peas for a snack, I do not like them, Kovitlac.

High Life has no interest in scientific accuracy. Characters simply fall “down” in space. I haven’t actually seen the film myself, but that caveat aside it’s supposed to be really good.

Ad Astra is the only movie I’ve seen on this list (I got a kid, man) and it was garbage. The glaring scientific inaccuracies took me right out of the film. You have a jet propulsion engine and you stop to see a monkey and then just go on your way to Mars again? Give me a break. The pathos were trash too. It’s a shame.

Because he’s brilliant at what he does would be the answer.

I'd enjoy that scene a lot more if Tarantino wasn't leering at her feet while at the same time celebrating her life. I'd have also liked if movie Tate was also, you know, a character and not just a historical ticking time bomb. Margot Robbie does so much with so little but did she have to be given so little?

Out of curiosity, what purpose did the whole random subplot of Brad Pitt maybe killing his wife serve? It felt like that was there for a few consecutive scenes and then seemed to vanish. For me it made Pitt brutally beating a woman to death even more uncomfortable (yes, I know she was a Manson cult member but that was

Knives Out is so goddamn fun and the script is airtight. My only complaint is that the middle segment lost some of the momentum and felt a little draggy once the action moved away from the house, but man did it stick the landing.

Ad Astra is garbage from start to finish, and The Irishman is another tired rehash of the same movie Scorsese has made his entire career.

Manson” worship here is same as the “Nazi” worship from “Inglorious Basterds” (I hate that spelling). In that it was an easy plot element that allowed for Tarantino’s “alternate history” theme to be repeated again, with flamethrowers, and Dicaprio. Tarantino just uses the biggest target of ire from the period to
