If anything, people buying more new cars just under 10 years ago is better for the used car market today because now there are more less-than-10-year-old cars floating around for normal people looking for decent affordable transportation than there would have been otherwise. The cars that were clunkered out, if they we…
My Honda Fit has a CVT, and two low settings that the manual specifies offer two levels of increased engine braking. What is it doing if not putting the transmission in a lower ratio to force the engine to run at a higher RPM and thus create more resistance when going downhill? I’m sure the Prius adds regen to the…
It’s funny because right now they produce two models that seem like they would be a Celica in another decade. The GR86, obviously, is a 4cyl sport coupe which fits the bill. But they also offer the A90 Supra with a 2L 4cyl in Japan, and before the FWD Celica split, the Celica was the 4cyl Supra (or really the Supra…
Sounds like the real issue is road design and the sign should say “INSTALL TRAFFIC CALMING MEASURES [blurred vulgarity]”
Coupes/extended cab trucks with the double doors are a reasonable exception I suppose. When getting into those, though, the rider is well aware that their egress will be similarly as complicated as their ingress. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to require that door handles be usable without power and not be hidden.…
I really don’t understand why this is legal. Every trunk is required to have a glow in the dark handle that can open it from the inside at any time but for some reason it’s okay for normal ass doors to just become unopenable under common emergency situations.

I absolutely agree but now we have “keys” on your phone. So lots of folks won’t have a reason to have their key on them 99.9% of the time, so they won’t when this 0.1% incident happens, and then they still won’t be able to open the door.
Saying you shouldn’t be ticketed for driving your unmodified car in such a way that it is louder than the legal limit is like saying you shouldn’t be ticketed for exceeding the speed limit with an unmodified car.
It’s a period SEMA build, they worked with what was new/available at the time.
I remember hearing about it pre-Ken Block, mostly in the context of ripping tiny cars like Minis around super tight courses.
A tornado in Florida lifted a pickup truck sitting on a used car lot and threw it into the path of oncoming traffic
That is an amazing patina right there.
Exhaust is wasted power. If we were really serious we’d be fully converting all of the fuel matter into energy.
why do people come to a pop culture website to declare “i am completely out of touch with pop culture”
That’s great to hear, I had been assuming this thing was Ioniq 5 sized. Hopefully it doesn’t weigh 4,000 lbs as well.
The EDS-1275 is the one that Jimmy Page made famous and is probably the most famous Gibson double neck configuration, but Elvis’ was an EDS-1250 with a 6-string bass on top instead of the 12-string.
Let me get this straight: you think that the solution to people doing dangerous things while running from the police (presumably because they are desperate to avoid whatever penalties and consequences that may already exist) is to increase said penalties so that they will perform a cost-benefit analysis based on the…
