Farewell Dowd. You and basically everyone working at this site were so much better than J/O Media deserved.

Star Trek V just isn’t that bad

I don’t understand why a pregnant woman can’t show off a new car.

Now when it’s dumb, it’s Family Guy dumb. Something that even The Simpsons at its worst never became (it became bad in a different way), let alone Futurama.

Not only did he date Michelle Pfeiffer, he dumped her! I’m sure he’s also like “Fuck that guy!” when he thinks of the version of himself who thought he could do better than Pfeiffer.

That takes years to do and while it is happening, you can’t just shut out people of different backgrounds from what is currently on TV as you wait.

Random vanilla, placeholder white characters being adapted into meaningful black characters whose race informs their values is something I’ll take 8 days a week!

So you think it’s pointless, but doesn’t impact the show negatively. If it positively impacts the show for other people, doesn’t that show that it isn’t pointless? Seems like a net positive overall! :)

Oh how horrible! Someone talking about their personal experiences!

Imagine being in one of the most successful bands of all time, consistently popular and touring for 50 years... but one of the other members is someone you happened to be dating for a little while in your early 20s. That seems like some monkey-paw “be careful what you wish for” type business.

Jennifer Walters is 5'1" un-Hulked so Tatiana Maslany is actually about 3 inches too tall if we’re being real sticklers for accuracy.

That’s an interesting take on Serac. There’s also the fact that Ford himself said human minds could live uncorrupted in virtual reality.

Here’s a great Unethical Life Pro Tip: Since the cowards at G/O Media have suspended comments at Deadspin, come on over to Lifehacker to tell Jim Spanfeller what a horrible piece of shit he is. Fuck you, Jim, you spineless waste of space!

I had the biggest crush on Louise Post after that SNL appearance.

Barcelona has made great strides to accommodate bicycles and later scooters in the last 10-15 years, but it’s also at least twice as dense as, say, San Francisco and has much more thorough coverage by underground subways.

What?!! The Beyond burger is great IMO. And better for you. As are the sausages.

The problem is totally that employees just refused to work remotely.

This. If you want people to drive less, you have to build smarter cities. That also means investing in public transit. I know those are dirty words in the US, but there you are.

But if your alternative is the Beyond Burger—which we also tested and could not eat because it was so awful—Impossible is a pretty incredible option.

It’s not a cinematic masterpiece, but it is wonderful campy fun. You should totally watch it.
