Astronaut who time jumps” just seems to make the most sense as a call back to the original film but from the apes point of view, and a call back to the original film in this set of films ( there was a TV playing footage of a NASA launch in James Franco film).

Complaining about the giant spiderlady from the first movie not being relevant in this movie seems like complaining that the trash compacter monster from Star Wars didn’t pay off in Return of the Jedi.

Apple is a significantly more mature business than basically everyone else in the tech space, and, frankly, is much more likely to simply cut off AppleTV+ entirely (and likely sell the existing seasons piecemeal) than let the service become shitty.

This flashbacked to an article I read many many years ago with an interview with Stan Lee, regarding the old “letters to the editor” pages that comics used to have on the final page or two ( I don’t know if they still have these, it’s been at least 20 years since I’ve looked at a new comic book).

I think that “an episode a week is a network scam” is a simplistic view to take. Yes, the network would like you to not watch everything at once and instead subscribe to an extra month. But I think there’s more benefit to it....

I feel like one of the reasons I stopped reading comics was the creation of characters like Cable and Bishop....I was interested in reading stories about people using cool powers and not running around with GI-Joe guns, pouches, and dinky feet.

Ah the irony of someone complaining about a $46K car while loving a car that costs at least $60k.

Yeah, pretty much. I feel like all computers at this point are powerful enough to do whatever general tasks you need them to do....it’s when you get into the more specialized niches the dependencies on little hardware choices matter ( for example, if you are doing 3-D modeling and rendering beyond more than a hobby

Back when I used to watch the show the rules of “walkers follow sounds” varied drastically based on “whatever we needed them to do”. So any given episode could easily include “walkers aggressively following someone simply chewing gum” and at the same time “walkers completely ignore Darryl revving up his piped out

KotM had some references to other Mothra eggs in it somewhere.

Only if time travelling detective was extremely angsty and gritty, and set to moody pop music by edgy performers you haven’t heard of. ( Actually, from what I remember of season 1, the soundtrack was pretty strong)

I’m kind of annoyed that there’s this concept of a Monsterverse, and we even see a bunch of surviving monsters at the end of King of the Monsters...but every single movie just seems to be Kong and Godzilla doing things.

As someone who had, at the time, acquired an HBO account via ATT mobile service and looking for something of interest to watch on the service.....

That sounds exactly what I would expect a Biblical “Scholar” to say.

The most amazing thing to me is that Yeoh is about 10 years past that age of where Hollywood throws out actresses for the young’uns. And yet given that she’s a POC and has a fairly noticeable accent, I swear that she must have at least 3 clones of her running around Hollywood to cover all the projects that she’s in.

I appreciated what they tried to do with the Paul Feig Ghostbusters, finding a fresh new start. I liked the idea of a female troupe of Ghostbusters.

Look at how the Star Wars sequels and the last two Indiana Jones movies worked out.

John Wick is a candlemaker. I’m mean he’s got Wick right in his title. That’s not by mistake.

He stole an unaccompanied minor’s boarding pass (not sure why the gate agent didn’t do a double-take when a grown-ass man checked-in using an unaccompanied child’s ticket)

I sort of get the usefulness of bringing back Morph, where you have a way of channeling the zillions of x-men characters instantly without needing to introduce them; as someone who read the 80s comics that these stories are based on, one of the more interesting things I thought was how true they were to just having
