Oh man! The second half of Press Your Luck is soooooo terrible. One of the joys of PYL is the speed of which it moves, with a lot of “play along at home” action that all good game shows have.

Isn’t that the Sturgis Harley event?

Ah the Root. Where I got into an argument with someone who complained that Halle Berry was blacklisted by Hollywood and giving all her roles to Sandra Bullock.

Based on the museums I’ve been to, at least “Big City Museums(tm)“ are usually all of the “permanent display” type, except for a couple of sections that are zoned for rotating travelling displays ( which swap out collection/activities every 6 months or so as you describe)

Ikea’s marketing department should be fired because we haven’t had a commercial do that yet.

And the line doesn’t even make sense!!! They already assembled! Who the hell whispers “assemble” when you want everyone to charge and attack?

I love the idea of “hey, you know how we can get younger people interested in watching the Oscars? We should promote the hell out of the very first live performance of a popular song!”

Have you ever watched an Oscar’s telecast? 50% of the show is ALL ABOUT making references to movies made decades ago and making lame jokes about famous people’s looks and lifestyles in a light celebrity roast fashion. And really, the jokes aren’t even really funny when you get down to it, it’s more about knocking

It should be noted that early on in her career, Sandra Bullock started a production company, which I presume is partly so that she can control the projects that she wants to be in, and shape the story/script to her liking. Looking on wikipedia, 5 out of the last 6 films she gets a credit for she was also the producer.

While I enjoy Romacing The Stone for it’s “yeah, we’re making a silly romantic comedy adventure film, so what?” vibe, I still have issues with the completely generic “you’ve heard this sound effect before thousands of times” gunshot sound effect that the audio editor uses for Danny DaVito’s gun ( when he’s running

Dissapointed in no mention of loaning money to Dracula ( especially in light of that Morbius movie coming out at roughly the same time)

“although there are stories that he was very vocal about in private”

It was produced....40 years ago. Stuff like solar power that we see nowadays ( in terms of power generation and cost ratios ) comes close to the edge of science fiction 40 years ago. It was in the middle of a decade where you actually had TV commercials telling you to turn off lights in room if there was no one there,

Id like to hear more why producing a bad movie equates to commiting war crimes.

Jingle Jangle is a decent enough Christmas musical.

Things like “mewling quim” and black light jokes have a couple of layers of indirectness that can be knowingly winked and sort of handwaved away....

It’s interesting....I don’t see the show as “Jews argue a lot” as much as a show with “1940s screwball comedy fast-pitch dialog and arguments who just happen to be Jewish”.

I don’t know...i mean beyond Daredevil, which is pretty much just punchy kicky violence, the first few seasons of Jessica Jones really covers some quite adult themes and iirc, a few intercourse scenes that are a bit more explicit than typical network kissing-in-bed scenes... That are generally handled pretty well,

Uh, that was the whole point of Touchstone ... to release films that wouldn’t be able to fit under the family friendly Disney brand.

Well they don’t have over-blown versions of “personal freedoms and rights from me and not for thee” viewpoints
