The Mummy came out in the same summer as Phantom Menace. It was funny watching the Mummy after TPM and thinking about the Mummy “Oh, so THIS is what a big budget movie feels like when all the actors look like they are having fun making it.”

I can handle Sherlock being a drug addict (Elementary) and a complete asshole (Sherlock) and even shown up by kids (Enola Holmes)
As an aside, I fucking hate my 2016 MBP. It can burn in hell for all I care. That keyboard was a trainwreck and has been replaced TWICE. I bought a 2019 MBP as soon as they swapped out the keyboard.
The sci-fi elements bugged me because they were ignored.
I don’t know...it seems like “the public record” of, say, how Seal Team 6 took out Bin Laden is pretty available at this point. Or all the event of various people during 9-11.
Even though this has nothing to do with Monica...I certainly hope that they come up with some hand wave-y thing that de-powers Danvers a bit. For all the wonderful spectacle of Endgame, I really don’t want to see a full movie of a character who can take down giant flying spaceships by flying through them, and then…
Comparing number of service centers on a country to country basis has....a lot of problems. Germany doesn’t NEED as many given it’s size when compared to the U.S. Germany isn’t even as big as Texas ( but it’s close)
Yeah, the whole “self-assuredness” is why I can see Wednesday as sort of cocky detective...and you’ve got the whole “who knows more about a killer’s mind than a killer” aspect working for her. Except that....I can’t see her trying to stop a killing spree, her whole schtick would be trying to find the killers and…
I’ve been frankly amazed at how hard it is to find something to watch when skimming over “200 channels” on cable nowadays. For example, it seems like there are only 30 movies now that exist in rotation across all those channels...every weekend is either Harry Potter Weekend, Star Wars Weekend, Lord of the Rings…
I’ve been wishing for a business game sim where I’m a sports bar owner during those times, and most of the game play revolves around renaming my menu items with more patriotic names.
There’s something wonderful in JLU about the undercurrent that runs throughout both of those seasons of the b and c-list characters with their jealousy and left-out feelings because “the big 7" always get the plum “saving the world” assignments. You’d think being a part of the superhero club would be a great…
Yep. that’s been my thought for a while. You could easily take a few JL animated episodes with a common story thread and stitch them together with a little effort and make a dandy JL live action movie. Same thing with the Batman animated series. There’s no real reason to “re-invent” the characters when they already…
Personally, so far everything Snyder has released really doesn’t address issues that the movie has in the first place. So it doesn’t seem like he’s trying to fix things, as much as he is spending tens of millions of dollars on a personal quest to even further Synderize of the movie....which his previous DC movies have…
Clue and Ghostsbusters 2 are both movies that I saw in theatres originally that were....not so great, and were treated as such when they first came out. But both have sort of grown to be these “good” movies over time for some reason. Maybe because Clue has a bunch of internet meme-worthy things in it, people are…
That explanation of how wall detection works and how to use it to find shortcuts was....a lot more fascinating than I thought it was going to be.
Yeah, I’m not a big fan of the movie, beside it being cute and harmless. It not even a really good example of wacky-trapped-in-a-murder-mansion stage play genre.
The Beyonder was never a trickster as far as I can remember.
Fellowship kind of drags for me. It seems like walking....peril!...RESCUED BY ELVES! repeats itself, just with different sets of elves.
Yeah, that quote about the WandaVision costs seems particularly high, given how not-special-effects heavy the first 3 episodes are, and that the Madalorian is set to $15 million a episode, which, while pricey, makes a lot sense given that it is visually on a par with big budget sci-fi movies.
Has the $25 million per episode for WandaVision ever been verified? Supposedly each episode of the Madalorian cost $15 million....but that sort of makes sense given that it’s a sci-fi special effect show.
