I believe that both Jumanji and Zanthura were both based on books by the same author....hence why they are similar ( belonging to a series of books about board games that take players on adventures.

Tesla’s machine “works” in the sense of that what it does is not a trick. the very opening shot with the hats tells you that; that’s not a character pulling some hocus pocus misdirection....that’s the director saying, even if you don’t realize it at the time, “this movie involves a real cloning machine”.

I think a lot of it has to do with it being made as an adult film for adults, and it still has that 70's “thoughtful scifi” thing going on with it before Star Wars came along and said “scifi is all about bombast and ‘SPLOSIONS!

Isn’t that sort of War of the Worlds? I mean, Tom Cruise in that movie plays a really big jerk ( which is kind of fun to see), but once the action gets crazy it’s mostly him running around saving his kids.

Yeah, I guess that’s what I’m looking for in this comment thread....additional ACCESSORY emotes that would’ve been more inclusive but still interesting graphically ( flags I don’t consider to be a good choice as an emote, I’m not sure anyone would care to use that except during World Cup season ). Like I think chile

it was odd to have ghost yoga setting trees on fire and ghost Luke lifting xwings out of oceans....but the best they can do during the final battle is just whisper in rey’s ear? i agree, if you are going to power creep jedi ghosts from being simply guiding voices from beyond the grave to full-on poltergeists, they

It might have been referred by that in some fan circles, but it was never officially titled that. You can’t find any reference to it on a google search before 2017. And I actually worked on a licensed product for the prequels....and no one from Lucasfilm called it that.

to my knowledge, “skywalker saga” wasn’t even a  term until around TLJ. (at least when talking about the movies). it seems like something a marketing guy came up with to answer the problem of “in a large galaxy, we keep bringing back the same 4 characters”.

I’ve always wanted a Carol spinoff (back when she got kicked out of the prison) that was basically her doing the Clint Eastwood “Man With No Name” western wanderer bit.

i always like the fight scene with Sokka and the terminator guy, myself.

there is a board game for it.

See, you are equating a horror movie with the sub-genre slasher movie.

that was kind of my take on it too. it was decent enough, I guess. But it really was too much of a CGI spectacle. The original movie really was sort of a “goofballs dealing with a serious problem way over their heads” kind of movie where there was always the sense that the tech they were playing around with could

i had no idea that the last Ghostbuster movie had a colon/subtitle in its title.

It wasn’t just over her costume.

Muppet Movie is 1976 or so.

It’s mentioned once in the early stories as something that happened as a trigger point in his powers, but beyond that, you can’t find any other reference in those first run issues of the New Mutants that mentions it or as it is a reason for Roberto doing something. Meanwhile, there are countless references to his

complaining that the actor who plays sunspot isn’t a dark enough skinned Brazilian just seems like you should be also be complaining that the actress who plays Dani isn’t a dark skinned enough native american; in the original stories they had Dani spending most of her time in stereotypical leather strapped braided

The X-Men101 cover reminds me: The last time I went into a comic shop was probably 15 years ago, and I was dismayed that comics had completely abandoned putting a tease of what actually happens in the book and just replaced it with something akin to a generic action pose of the most popular character in the book,
