“Very few women on campus”

Don’t act like you all weren’t picking up Loyola girls all the time.

To be fair, she was wearing a strap-on.

Username/Comment synergy?

Seeing a man actively admit to raping someone and seeing a comment about how he’s shitty because he’s a cheater is probably the most A.V. Club comment I’ve seen since Kinja.

What NRA nutjobs admit we have a culture problem? Like, we clearly do. That culture problem leads to a gun problem. The issue is that more gun control doesn’t fix the culture problems, it’s just a good first step.
If you think the sexual assault that’s having a light shone on it is a problem with “Some people are bad”

How’s it dishonest to want to have sex with someone? This is the type of shit that’s troubling. You can’t equate anti-sexual assualt with anti-sex or we’re gonna have a big problem with the penduluum swinging the other way.

I mean, Morgan Spurlock just said he didn’t think he raped anyone either until someone told him he did?

“I’d like to see other white men do what I did and stand down”

???

It’s weird, I don’t like Freddy’s Dead or Tank Girl... and the Nightmare on Elm Street documentary “Never Sleep Again” really seems to frame her as the architect of all the goofiness that overtook Freddy Kreuger in later movies (for better or for worse)... but she clearly has such a strength of vision I just want to

Thing I found out on IMDB just now... both Michelle MacLaren and Jennifer Kent have movies called “The Nightingale” coming out soon.

As a Star Wars fan, Karyn Kusama’s Star Wars sounds like a waste of her talents. Even if it fits her wheelhouse (“Dathomir Double Lightsaber Massacre”), I’d much rather see her do almost anything else.

I love how much entertainment news is “Celebrity answers obvious question either correctly or like an asshole.”

Obviously the only appropriate response is ritual suicide.

“The Last Jedi” is kind of like “The Force Awakens” meets “A New Hope”

Oh, definitely.
Sorry, that isn’t a critique of the story. I was just trying to get into the headspace to understand the backlash among male readers who are made angry by it. I mean, I’m a guy, so a part of me “felt” this, even if I found it more thought-provoking and daring than cheap.
Like, I think they’re waiting

“Casablanca meets the Mos Eisley Cantina”

But, the Mos Eisley Cantina is already Casablanca meets the Mos Eisley Cantina!

I think the “Whore” line leans too far one direction from the ambiguity at the end. But again, what makes that provocative is how often that seemingly happens to women.

COOTIES!

Thanks for linking to that interview. It makes the story much more interesting.

“you all need to stop sharing that cat person piece. the linked image is deeply stressful”

Uh, the linked image is two people kissing.
