Finally, someone has the courage to take on the sacred cow of “comedians that nobody likes”

I take it back, this guy isn’t cringey. He’s a genius:
I love the smirk on the main newscaster when he knowingly leaves that inflation joke out to dry.
Let’s also keep in mind, the headline isn’t controversial. It leaves open the fact that B&R COULD be the worst.
I used to have this annoyingly image conscious boss who I traveled to L.A. with on a few occasions and he straight up insisted on a convertible every time we went. Anyway, me and my buddy who both worked for him kept trying to trick him into playing Sabre Dance as loud as possible when he was trying to look cool…
Is there a more completely list anywhere? I already know Pervert Park and The Mule are leaving, so was hoping to be able to take a look at something that lists everything.
Ascension came out to a resounding ‘meh’, not because of the story, but because the mechanics felt like a step backwards.
The constant criticism that God of War is bad because the main character’s only speed is angry and violent is possibly the dumbest video game criticism I’ve ever heard.
Wait, Cannes has hookers?
To be fair, you shouldn’t touch people who say “don’t touch me”.
I mean, sure... but I think some people actually get a kick out of saying “I like this media so I’m part of this group, which is objectively better than people who like this media”
It’s a dumb tribalism that’s only magnified by online discourse. I think telling people to stop putting obtuse value judgments on people…
:D
Wait, how is that wrong? That’s the only way I’ve ever seen it used.
That book is about 25 pages away from a smart cynical critique though. Like, it can still have the “escapism is good!” saddled right next to “Nothing is new and that’s kind of insufferable!”.
That and beefing up the plot/characters might have actually made a good book.
I mean, for some reason people do love to turn criticism into an attack on personal values:
“No, garbage needs to be pointed out, and those who like it shamed and ridiculed.
What’s it like knowing everything?
“I hope get utterly crushed by allegations.”
There’s no conceivable way to HOPE for allegations without HOPING for a victim to make said allegations. This is the same thing as “I never liked them anyway” when someone gets exposed, except it’s worse because you’re literally hoping for more high profile abuse/harassment…
I’m not concerned. But the culture of WANTING people you don’t like to be abusers is real and mind-boggling.
