Oh, definitely. I was just saying that because they already handled it internally, “That doesn’t sound like me” or whatever other verbage the non-apologies favor wouldn’t quite work.

On one hand, this is sweet of everyone.

On the other hand, having a video of a classmate crying going viral after a guy who dresses up like Captain America is nice to him and calls you ‘punks’ is bully fuel.

Yea, I know it wasn’t literal. Still pretty terrible. Literally making up rumors out of nowhere is at least part of the reason some people find it hard to believe some of these allegations.

Yea, that’s pretty great that a whole group of people are like “Look at his face, I bet he assaults people”

Not to take away from that, but it looks like there was one internal allegation that the company confronted him about and made him take training on. So...
A. He was very recently confronted with his behavior and, presumably, forced to look at it with some empathy in a way that he actually understands why it’s bad.
B.

Really classy to be taking bets on sexual assault cases.

I went to a strip club after New York Comic Con one time and it was empty and the dancer was mad that her manager wouldn’t promote it as a stripper cosplay weekend or something and I hope she’s a successful entrepreneur now.

That’s not what a dropkick is.

I’d argue that Helen Hunt’s character is ALMOST good. There’s a super pedestrian feminist message in there that Allen whiffs hard on.

Mash Gassen has had some interesting pieces on this:

O’Malley had a super progressive crime plan during the ‘16 primaries though. Hell, he’s about as far left a candidate as the DNC would probably be comfortable putting out there. But that’s based on future promises, considering his track record on crime in Baltimore was less than progressive.

I’m not sure that someone like O’Malley would have gotten a pass. Sure, it intensified A LOT because so many people didn’t like the color of Obama’s skin (hence the conspiracy theories), but Repubs had their knives out based on how heavy the anti-Bush rhetoric got, which was in-part because of how the GOP hated

I think the biggest implausibility is actually that a glorified zoo would genetically engineer one of their biggest attractions to turn invisible.

THREAD!

The only way to make me think furries are weirder is their insistence that it ISN’T a sex thing. When I thought people were going to convention spaces in hotels only to spend all day having anonymous sex through strategically placed holes in their costume, at least it made sense.

“My name is Kirk. I like to smirk.”

I will say, he sure does love his sweeping, elemental interpretations of pop culture. I could see him going heavy into the Id/Ego/Superego of McCoy/Kirk/Spock, or really criticizing the ramifications of the Prime Directive in interesting ways.

Most people that feel like this comment is silly is because they like to give lots of details when they’re worried that someone’s going to think their truthful statement is a lie.

Apt Pupil’s been on my list to rent from my local video store for awhile. I just put it at #1 so when I ask for it it won’t sound like some sort of morbid curiosity post-revelations.
