My first thought before I even saw he was playing the Ringmaster (it was either that or the mouse).

That sucks. What kind of computer you working with? An Etch-a-Sketch keychain?
"What's everyone complaining about?"
"WAHHH, GO FUCK YOURSELF YOU MONSTERS!"
That's different, but if the narrowness of the format is what's bothering them, that would work. A weird complaint since that's how I always did most of my comments anyway when I was scrolling through Notifications.
"I hate the new comment section"
*proceeds to utilize it to comment more than ever in protest, somehow realizing they're proving the future solvency of a new user interface*
Ha, I was going to give up mocking all the people who are having immature nerd rage fits, but then y'all compared the changes in the comment section to the sexual exploitation of children. Never change, A.V. Club commentariat.
Remember the subject lines on comments? And how historical comments look all weird now?
$10 says it's not
You fuck your mother with that mouth?
Yea, it's hilarious.
Actually, I think it doesn't work anymore. Basically, if you had one article open and then clicked through the comments of ANOTHER article and clicked on the timecode of a specific comment from THAT comment section it would take you to a page that looked just like the old one.
However, I just tried it and now it…
I wish I cared about anything the way you do about a UI change on a fucking comment section.
Yea, the endless scrolling is not my fave. I like things living on their own page (Clickhole's been like that for awhile… the main problem there I couldn't go back to previous "They Said What" articles as easily as those buttons left.
Nope, it's the exact same format as before.
Guys, I figured out how to comment in the old format, but I'm not telling you all whiny little crybabies.
Those are the BEST words to use when you don't have substantive criticism!
They're great, but undescriptive. Only "ugly" and "unintuitive" give me an idea of what people are seeing that I'm not. But I call bullshit on unintuitive, since here we all are, commenting and replying without an instruction manual.
When learning a new process in UI, it always seems LESS intuitive, until you use…
"with the endless scroll it's easy to go way past the appropriate post"
Um, yea, the first time. Now it's not that hard. I just scroll a little if I want the comments.
The "[x] new comments below" does seems broken to me. That's more a glitch than a feature though.
I don't see the third issue you mention.
I'm seeing them load in the side. But it's not narrow. It's about 6 inches of screen.
"Reads headline. Skims first paragraphs. Scrolls down to comments section."
