I guess it depends on the access to the car while in storage.  The alternative would be to have their own connection into the rail network and when the trip is over, have the car moved onto the private siding.  That wouldn’t be cheap either, but one would have more control over who would have access to it.

For Midwest deliveries from CA ports, one would hope the containers are getting put on a train.

When I saw the headline come up on another site, I just guessed it was on I-10 through NM, not in IL.

The number operating the train likely isn’t going to change. The number needed to inspect the cars in the yard and fix what’s needed is a bigger issue. The management attitude of “if it rolled into the yard, it can roll right back out” is a factor in many of these derailments.

I’m lazy and I don’t mind birds and bees hanging around.  The ticks and snakes can FOAD and that’s why I mow at least once a week.

Get a new goat every spring and have a cookout in the fall.

I was impressed with a how fast a neighbor kid that had a zero turn mower could take care of my lawn.  Well, until he knocked the propane line loose with the mower.

The dandelions are back the next day whenever I mow.  Nothing seems to be able to kill those fucking things except pulling them up and burning them.

How much did it cost?  Their website wasn’t responsive to clicking on the “buy now” links.

If one could selectively engage a different number of motors at a time, you’d think they would be able to figure out a way that after one engine was started, it could be able to start the others.

they would anyway if someone didn’t tell them that they need to be mad about something that doesn’t concern them.

I saw a similar vehicle the other day with commercial license plates and I’m guessing a minivan for the missus to haul kids to the ball park wouldn’t have the same tax advantages.

It’s funny that there are many “campgrounds” where people have towed those huge campers and have proceeded to build decks, sheds, permanent plumbing, etc around the camper.  It’s a way to have a vacation home, but with RV build quality and efficiency.

They aren’t cheaper because they use less materials. The difference in materials is minor as others have pointed out. The OEMs price the CUV/SUV models more thanks to the marketing department. You will have seen more ads showing a CUV trudging along through deep snow or some other form of shitty weather with the hint

But isn’t that what Honda and other Japanese manufacturers have been doing for years at their US plants?

Is this the same bike that was in the “Groundhog Day” ad from a few years ago? Were they not available for testing until now?

All of the various manufacturers in this HD diesel truck market will be interested in what qualifies as “zero emission” according to CARB.

The cavity of taking taxpayer money was that the carriers couldn’t involuntarily furlough or terminate employees. The airlines downsized their staff regardless through early retirements or other incentives.

How long had he been paying on the loan?

Invite them to a “beer & bikes” picnic or some other sort of event at the dealership and then repo the bikes there.
