Thank you! Oh, and I can't have walnuts either for the same reason, but that's been pretty avoidable most of the time.

They are, but they just opened a new mead bar in my adopted hometown and I can't go. But I'm drinking vodka and weird juice so I'm ok right now.

I'm not sure, but I have heard it suggested that the splintering of channels has a lot to do with it. The "black" shows are on BET, UPN, etc and I guess white people are all watching HGTV or whatever. (Obviously this is a huge generalization with exceptions galore.) There have been shows that do a good job with

YES. I was trying to avoid just coming out and being all 'FUCK THE PATRIARCHY' but that's essentially what I'm saying.

Yeah, I think if this were a procedure that men went through, doctors would hand out pain meds for it like candy. JUST SAYIN.

welcome to the world of dating and assholes.

don't beat yourself up. It happens to us all. But know I just replay the Maya Angelou quote "When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time. " Keep people like that a distance. Someone you say hi to at functions, casual run-ins, chat up with for five minutes every other month, but don't accept their

Date night with this guy. We're watching Pit Bulls & Parolees. He's not judging my wine consumption. I love him.

Crazy library patron story time!

I've been saying this! I really think it was. Now I would feel weird admitting I watched a show like that, but back then everyone loved In Living Color, Roundhouse, Martin, Fresh Prince, etc.

I'm glad this helped. I hope that things calm down for you, because you deserve to feel happy and safe. You are intelligent and strong and brave and you deserve good things. In the meantime, here are puppies:

It's Saturday! People have mimosas and Bloody Marys for breakfast so you can definitely have wine now.

I had to have mine removed once, in the doctor's office. I thought it had fallen out so they put another one in . . . months later, I was in excruciating pain. An x-ray revealed that there were now TWO in. Doctor removed them and that was so painful, I was begging for anything, "do you have any liquor in your bottom

I have such a crush on Charlie Day, it's ridiculous. So much so that sometimes I can't tell if it's Charlie Day or Charlie Kelly I'm crushing on. Probably both.

Is it too early to drink wine ??? (It's 4:30 West Coast time) Like, by the time I get up and get a glass and a cork screw and pour it it's going to be like, 4:35. Which is almost 5.

I got my IUD put in on Wednesday. Thanks to all the Jezzies who answered my questions and offered up advice (even if I didn't list and drove myself and that was stupid). I passed out during the procedure because of vaso vagal issues. Oops.

LLAP

We spent most of today working on stuff for my son's third birthday party. I lost my mind and agreed to a Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer theme. We're making mother fucking reindeer cake pops, a big cardboard reindeer head, pin the tail on Rudolph, reindeer chow( it's like muddy buddies with red and green mnms), ETC.

After 9/11 everything went backwards, eventhough tv is becoming more diverse it is still not as diverse as it was in 90s . I would also say American film industry/Hollywood is way less diverse than tv, but when you have films like American Sniper making $325,308,000 in US alone and it will soon outgross the Hunger

Was TV more progressive and inclusive in the 90s than now, 20 years later? For instance, the idea of NBC airing a sitcom set at an HBCU on Thursday night at 730 central is unfathomable to me today.
