Good to see more people than just Jimmy Stewart having issues with Harvey.

And plays her in the movie

Missing Emily Blunt too.

I liked the beginning when fin was going to save her from the thugs. She kicked their asses, then kicked his for good measure

Ditto. My sulky teen daughter was seriously underwhelmed when we told our kids we were taking them to see it, although she adored Asoka and has been enjoying the new cartoons. Mid-way through the movie, I could see that she was cheering for and was completely enthralled by Rey.

Cellphone video recordings should be allowed in theaters for this exact purpose.

I just read your comment to my mother, who saw the first film on opening day in 1977, and now she’s all misty eyed. She said, “Why is it I had to grow into an old woman before that happened? Why didn’t you and your sister have a Jedi they could pretend to be?”

Rey is absolutely the best thing about TFA. Welcome to the boys club.

Reading this, and having two daughters, I was emotional (and am right now dammit) to see a strong female lead become a jedi like that and show young girls that they can be strong and do whatever they want too. Very powerful moment in the film.

I didn’t bring my daughter because I’m a selfish bastard and also because she may be too young (she’s 5), but I had her on my mind watching Rey’s scenes. I need to show her the film later on because I know she’ll love her and have a heroine to look up to.

Awwwwwww.

“I brought my 8-year-old daughter to see this. I turned to her when Rey unwields the lightsaber for the first time and she had a HUGE grin on her face.

I have a 5 and 6 year old who love the original trilogy and Rebels I’m curious if they can handle this in theaters. How did your daughter react to the death of a beloved character?

Shit, I’m getting emotional just imagining it, and I don’t even know you!

This is great I am so happy that you had a moment like this with your daughter :)

😍 that’s making me well up and I don’t even like children. I had an eyeroll when Rey was captured so to see a heroine rescue herself gave me such love for her. I’d love the film for that alone

If by “edge” you mean self-righteous and lazy hipster critiques on how something is terrible because those you deem below you actually like it, sure, I’m sure plenty of folks are clamoring.
