While I hate slideshows, I do appreciate kotaku finally listing platforms. I hope that continues.

Some stay dry and others feel the pain.

This review is kind of amazing in a “how did this ever get published?” kind of way. Between the blatant major spoilers, gender hate, misspelling the main characters name (“Issac”), and being done by somebody that didn’t even play the original for comparison, it’s uhhhh, interesting to say the least...

Considering a spoiler warning takes effort bordering so close to zero there is no meaningful distinction, a spoiler warning is always merited.

From a managerial standpoint, I’m with you. You’re on top of your work, who cares if you putz around a bit in some downtime.

This is starting to rival Blue Box Game’s Abandoned for the “we have a game, honest, but we can’t actually show you for the strangest reason” award...

The hate is because it’s not a fun game, it was written badly, the trailers were amateur hour garbage, and because the price, not because the MC.

We tried to “alan smithee” a game once and the studio wouldn’t let us XD

As others said, the reason clickers in TLU click is to use echolocation to navigate their enviroment.

sure, but why, when you’re adapting something, would you adapt out one of the most iconic and recognizable concepts in favor of maybe being a hair more realistic?

Although the in-universe is echolocation, it’s also acted as the video-game plays notification that there was one in the immediate area. Without that audio cue, it would be impossible to know one was in the usually dark area. Also had the added benefit making the player tense and uneasy, knowing they would have to be

But you wouldn’t know that from the launch trailer which stays upbeat on the modern-day magical adventure by taking a bunch of words out of context and spinning them into deceitful accolades.”

Well said.
Its ludicrous to think that a TV show and video game can deliver the exact same amount of information to the viewer/player without either feeling like pieces are missing or over-fluffed. They are two completely different forms of media and the consumer should go in to each with completely different

I actually disagree that Joel is a monster (idolized or otherwise), and thats one of the things I love about the Last of Us. It seems that peoples perceptions of the characters/events vary so much based on perspective.

Thanks for the comment, valid on your opinion of Troy Baker’s performance, I guess i just couldn’t *buy-in*

I like the last of us, don’t get me wrong, I’ve played through it more than once, but I stand by my opinions on it. As for the *monster* comment, I was mostly referring to the large group of people that

You know, I was kind of with you a while. You had some bold takes, not all I agreed with, but I do think Troy Baker is a huge phoney and I do not understand all the love and praise that man gets, he has the range of a CW character, and his entire persona is just fake. Unpopular opinion, as noted by the angry comments

I struggle to find the point of this article even existing, honestly.

Did Baker fuck his wife or something? Had to throw in “vastly” too. Uh ok? I played TLOU, Uncharted 4, and Bioshock 3 all within the same window of time and had NO idea until afterwards that Baker played the main/main-ish (Sam) character in all 3. He is very talented.

The first version of the ever-remade game came out in July 2014

“I’m going to brag about not playing one of the most critically acclaimed video games ever, defend that decision, then use that decision to color my review.”
