Well, I’m not American, nor do I live in the states, although I fully understand that there are people, Chinese or otherwise, who will vehemently defend their regime and leaders. I had a few replies to this effect and I don’t believe this is the reason for the takedowns. If you’re interested in my response I replied

I don’t underestimate it, in fact I am sure many people in China have a slavish devotion to their leadership, just as such people exist in any country.

Great news! But also...”Chinese gamers”? C’mon...

Star Citizen...Let me tell you what the real issue is with Star Cit-

Minish is easily the weakest of the Capcom Zelda’s imo. It’s still ok but its rarity has inflated its reputation a little. I remember it being inexplicably made available for free to 3DS “ambassadors” but never being officially made available thereafter for the system.

That’s right. Official servers are wiped once per month, though blueprints are persistent until Facepunch decides to wipe those too (discretionary I believe).

At least Dust players are accustomed to having all their shit wiped. A random, externally triggered wipe like this though? Surprise mechanics.

I used to be like you, but the sheer number of games that have either no option to change key bindings or inexplicably prevent you from binding certain keys forced me to adjust to WASD. Still change the Y axis before anything else though...

Straight into the control options to change that Y axis setting! Mouse or controller, I’m changing that bad boy. May god have mercy on my inversion tainted soul...

Raft also places a lot of emphasis on hunger and thirst and, having played many survival games myself, I think Raft’s brother and sister may just be the hungriest and thirstiest survival protagonists I have ever encountered.

This is the only take I can really agree with, and more or less where I stand myself. Still, if HL turns out to be a good game I’ll buy it though I disagree with the opinions of certain folk involved. On balance, and for the reasons I mentioned in my post, I’ll sleep ok with that knowing that plenty of people I would

Much like the last article, the comments thread is awash with people discussing supporting or not supporting a game associated with 2 specific individuals who are deemed, by some, to have problematic opinions. Statistically speaking the average consumer of “things” will, in pure ignorance, contribute regularly to the

I don’t get this article. The game has been coming along nicely for a while now...

It’s true that he had something of value to leverage compared to the average Google customer but, ultimately, I doubt it was the threat of losing Terraria on an ailing piece of hardware that caused Google to take note. Rather it was the high profile his complaint achieved, because of the threat, which was more

Love how the guy at 0:41 just stops to chill presumably so a headshot can be lined up with some awful touchscreen controls.

Looks like my link didn’t make it in...meh...here it is :)

This is easily my favourite videogame soundtrack of 2020 just as the original was in 2015. Some great examples in the article of how the leitmotif of the main theme is expertly woven into multiple tracks in interesting ways. I love how it kicks in at 3:58 on Mora the Spiders track. Such an epic moment during the game

This is nothing I don’t know. Looking at Hogwarts Mysteries in the context of highest grossing mobile apps may not be favourable but in the context of the games it is way up there. Films have done worse relatively but not exactly badly . The books and their audio equivalents are underperforming in some regions but

I think you overstate how much social appeal has really been lost. The truth is that the majority of consumers are either ignorant of, or just do not care, about the kinds of issues that many Kotaku readers (myself included) care about. For those that do denounce Rowling’s comments? You’ll find a fair few there too,

That’s very subjective. I have heard plenty of folk say that the motion controls were the main turn off for them with SS.
