I think the next sentence covers that.

They admitted even in the earliest of interviews that they weren’t so much being political as they were pushing back against the establishment. When you’re in the entertainment industry, that establishment is generally liberal even if just for show. That’s what Gen-Xers did back then, and they were handed a shitload

I think the problem there is that the tech is still evolving and regulations will actually hamper one of the main things that EVs are going to have to overcome for the overall US market is charge times. Regulations can impede that development.

It’s more likely a random encounter by two people who were banished to the desert. One is looking for resources like food, water, and shelter. The guy in the Mustang II is seeing if the pilot has an extra pack of Marlboros.

All I have to do is install the iris on top of my garage, and I’ll be set. Mini-secret HQ is almost a go!

My friend and I have a game we play when we watch old movies called ‘Never Get Made’. Anytime something is said or happens that doesn’t fall in line with current perceived cultural norms, we deem that it would never get made today. Admittedly, a lot of that is for a good reason. No matter how funny you may thing

My favorite joke out of that segment:

Reverse: My uncle was an ATC in the Air Force when that happened. When Reagan fired all of the private sector ATCs, he had the AF send in their guys to pinch-hit. My uncle was sent to Detroit. It’s the closest he’s ever gotten to being sent into combat.

Stand-up mowers are old tech and don’t need the gyroscopes of the Segway because of their wide bases. The maintenance guy in our high school used to zip across the grounds on one. This was the early 90's, and it looked old even then.

“Her hair was the color of rust. She was tall as though someone installed an aftermarket lift kit. Her walk had a smooth glide like the shifting of gears on a manual transmission. She was the Holy Grail.”

Neutral: “Out on the road today I saw a Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac. A little voice inside my head said, ‘Don’t look back. You can never look back.’”

They have Pepsi instead of Coke. Jesus Christ! That place really is in the Dark Ages.

Yeah, Archer isn’t going to handle it well. I can’t remember how many seasons they still have to make for FX, but this surely has to be the thing that makes them let this show go.

It was a sendup of sitcoms that would just have some political issue thrown in. I think it will still hold up for that very reason.

What make The Mandalorian work is that it recognizes that Star Wars was a love letter to cinema. From the pulp Flash Gordon serials, spaghetti westerns, war films, and even some Kurosawa for good measure. JJ Abrahams used Star Wars films to make love letters to Star Wars films.

What are we supposed to tell the Major League film franchise?

A point that my friend brings out about The Village is that it begins with a straight up lie. They have a tombstone with a date in the 1820's, I believe. This is there only to deceive the audience as it makes no difference if it said the true date of the 2000's to the characters within the film. Their village and its
