This movie should be recognized for it’s influence on ‘Run Ronnie Run’. From the staged ‘outtakes’ in the credits to the dubbed Asian kid in a wheelchair.

I saw a moose lick a VW bus once. Man, it started tripping balls afterwards.

My grandfather lived out in the sticks. One of the properties next to him had cows. My brother and I watched them one afternoon moving down a stretch of fencing until they found a sagging barbed wire. Then one cow put all it’s weight against that section of fence until it fell over letting them all escape.

According to Chevy’s own website, the passenger space for the Bolt is 94.4 cubic feet. The Sonic is 90.3. The Malibu is 102.9, and the Equinox is 103.5. That puts the Bolt closer to the Sonic than either the Malibu or Equinox. And the new Trailblazer is base at $19k. Even with the $8500 discount, that’s still $9k Read more

And it is smaller with less passenger and cargo space. It’s a Sonic sized car. Until the Bolt either sells at a Sonic equivalent price or close (sub $20k base) or GM makes larger vehicles in the sub $30k range, I stand by my comment that gas is going to be king for the brand for quite some time.

Neutral: Chevy is still the entry brand for GM. Until the cost of EV production comes down and they can sell a 300 mile range Malibu or Equinox for under $30k base, gas cars are the way to go for them. That says nothing of what they’re going to have to do on the truck platform to keep selling all the units it does now.

The man’s been fighting it for damn near 30 years now. He’s put a lot of good in the world during that time. It’s sad to see it get to him like this, but he’s still been stronger about it than I think I could have been.

At least the bridge is still there. I watch a compilation of dump trucks with the bed up hitting bridges. You see the beds getting ripped off the back. Then, they have footage from some Asian countries where it’s the bridges that fail. I’m talking whole sections. Some with cars or pedestrians on them. Fucking scary.

I think it might have been called ‘Where you been?’ or something like that. It was a Comedy Central special, so look there for it. Afros and Bellbottoms’ and ‘Brain Damaged’ are both funny as hell.

Mr. Nice Guy falls into that category of Chan films that perfectly fit Hitchcock’s description of the McGuffin. There’s something there whether it’s diamonds or, in this case, an incriminating tape that’s just there to move the story forward. It doesn’t matter what it is, and it could be virtually anything.

The ‘plot’ is just an excuse to set Jackie Chan on an adventure to display his brand of entertainment much in the same way that Cheech & Chong movies set up comedic scenes to show off their stoner comedy or the way many action movies were there to display their star’s famous grimace, smile, or roundhouse kick. I first saw Sinbad maybe when I was about 7 or so. Nickelodeon had a show called Turkey TV that was done by the same people who did You Can’t Do That on Television. It was a variety of content put together for one show including some clean stand-up bits. It introduced me to Sinbad and Dana Carvey. I’ve been a fan of Read more

2nd: The Chevy dealership here has been bare bones since at least May. There are a few more cars on the lot, but it’s nowhere near what it usually is. I’d be happier with it if there was more selection, but it’s mostly trucks and the higher end SUVs. There are maybe three or four of the Trax and like one Sonic. Read more

My friend and I have been talking about this lately since we went to an event at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, AL last month.

The event I was at was a screening of ‘Evil Dead’ with Bruce Campbell presenting it. He was asking the audience about Huntsville, and someone screamed out about the Trash Pandas. His response was, “What the fuck is a trash panda?” Man, that was worth the 5 hour drive alone.
