I don't buy that argument. It's just pandering to people who don't want to put in the effort to experience the original work.

I still don't get this obsession with cinema that everyone has. Whenever a good work in one medium other than film is released the question is always "When will X be turned into a movie?"
Erm wasn't Uncharted II also ranked the best PS3 multiplayer game of the year as well? Very few games are gonna be as good as UC2's multiplayer so I wouldn't draw conclusions based on it. It is a big name like CoD and Halo. I know it's the only multi I extensively play.
Its an allocation of resources away from single player, or what could have been single player. It can only hurt games that don't take it seriously.
The daytime levels in Unleashed were actually good. And Sonic 4 wasn't bad...
I love being a gamer behind the times. So much cheaper.

The smart ones left long ago and the ranks filled with script kiddies trying to be 'rebels'.
You are STILL not looking at the macro level. Analyzing individual companies is not macro!!
Lets see if this works.

All that article says to me is that when the prices on games that aren't doing well are slashed, it generates publicity and sales temporarily go up. That model doesn't work for big releases. And Valve itself is in a unique position because it owns the store. That's like saying EA would be better off if it owned…
Showing one company's sales does not make much of a convincing argument. It's a fallacy. You entire argument is speculative and just wrong.
I'm sorry but I don't buy the DRM argument. All major PC developers have moved on to being multiplatform with console releases. Valve will likely never make a AAA PC only game again. And it's not even just piracy, its that there as a large consumer base with subsidized hardware units made to just play games to sell…
You defeated your own argument by admitting that Crytek now makes console ports. And Valve. And id. And pretty much everyone but niche strategy games makers.
WAYS IN WHICH CONSOLES ARE PROMOTING PC GAMING
Companies really shouldn't have to sue to keep their employees. I mean clearly they aren't being satisfied if they are leaving en masse to other studios.
Actually in ancient rome they never used a thumbs up or down signal to determine what happened to the gladiator. I know that is a fact.
@DukeOfPwn: So something like Vanquish? Even then the game sold pretty poorly. I plan on picking it up now that it can be bought for $25 or so online.
A single player shooter needs to be 10 hours. I refuse to buy any shooter new that has a short campaign. This is also why I haven't bought a new shooter since Bioshock. If they were priced accordingly maybe I would buy them new. I don't care about multiplayer for most titles. All I ever really need is one multiplayer…
