Maybe I'm a unruly curmudgeon, but I really want nothing to do with people when I play games online, which means MMO's don't really excite me. Playing against people as competition is okay, but I don't want to interact with them otherwise. So I am hoping that this rumored MMO stuff isn't mandatory.

If the NGP is going to top out at 400 (probably closer to $300) then price shouldn't really matter. It's the same hardware except for the larger but non-oled touch screen. There is no reason to think that Sony couldn't sell it at $600 for a profit.

I don't get why they don't just stuff NGP guts into a a tablet chassis, add a 10 inch screen, controls on the side giant battery, dual boot android, upscale PSP games, and then call it a day.

The list is better than I thought it would be. Happy to see Sackboy on it.

I think the threat of pulled PSN access IS a big deal for potential pirates. Pirated games, really just all games in general, are very much online centric. Take away the online component of games and people will definitely notice.

@Tweeg: They don't have to offer free services to people that don't abide by their conditions, which in this case is online play. That is fair.

@TaylorEatWorld: Dear god let it be French Revolution. One of the most fascinating time periods ever, and old enough for guns to not really matter.

@saturns2k: Actually the vast majority of development occurs in Canada so, no.

@dagamer34: I dunno. I'm not an expert on emulating computer architectures, but this phone from a computing standard the Play several times more powerful than the psp. I know there is the whole MIPS vs ARM difference, and with a phone with a full fledged OS you can only get so close to the metal, but it still seems

I wish they would detail the touch joysticks more. A lot of PS1 games won't support them, nor will any android games on the market today. I mean you could patch in XY movement with the left joystiq, but you would really have to design games for the right.

Link for everyone that wants to view the post in the old format WITHOUT gallery format. [ca.kotaku.com]

Ca.kotaku.com is staying normal (although stories are all the same size) for right now it seems. To convert new kotaku article to old style i put ca. before the url an take out the hashtag and exclamation point. Seems to work

Still not as cool as the Battleship game where you were blasted with water if you lost.

In the US encryption is legal and under the 5th amendment (protection against self incrimination) you don't have to tell the government the passwords.

Kotaku doesn't want to scare people

Well this is what happens when you start screwing with a big company. You don't go into hacking expecting no risk ,especially when the exploit is being used for piracy and that's really it. The torrent trackers are chock-full of PS3 games nowadays while I have not seen one demonstration of the exploit (s) for anything

@inkyness: EDIT, double post (Gawker comment hiccup)

@inkyness: It wouldn't look so ugly if it weren't for the fucking peacock head.

Wait where the hell is that girl going to land?!?
