Mythic Rares are why I said “roughly” the same rarity. And Mythic Rares only ever replace the Rare slot, so you still have the guarantee of 10 Commons, 3 Uncommons, 1 Rare or Better, and 1 Basic Land (Plus a possible chase card).

I’m more thinking of the comparison to something like Overwatch or HotS where the loot box

exactly. in my opinion though i cant get into fortnite, i love the serious tone of PUBG more and more often than not, building elements in games such as fortnite tend to annoy me more than entertain me. to each their own though.

I think the reason MtG booster packs still get a pass in a loot-box-hostile world is that although you don’t know exactly what you’re getting in each booster pack, you always get roughly the same rarity. You’re never going to open a booster pack of Magic cards and get nothing but Commons.

Swede here as well and I don’t agree. Nothing’s stopping him from restarting his education in 2-3 years when he hopefully has won a few tournaments and has a decent savings account.

The secret behind Fortine’s success: It’s free. Obviously that’s not the only reason, but it’s certainly the primary reason they are able to reach the sheer number of players they have. If this was a $20-30 game, it wouldn’t have 1/10th of the players.

I generally hate PVP games because/and I’m bad at them, but the fact that its free and available on console made me download it and try it out on Xbone.

I keep trying Battle Royale out but I don’t see the appeal to this gametype. There’s an amazingly low amount of gunfight surrounded by minutes and minutes of wandering around trying to loot and find others. Then within a couple seconds you’re dead and you go to lobby to start a new game. Even if you do manage to get

She’s good but not better that current Korean DVA/Zarya players in Overwatch League.

Non full korean rosters already have great off tank players and most of the mixed rosters only imported korean DPS players because is easier to integrate them with the team (They just let them be in the case of tracer players) while a

Co-sign to all of this. Especially as a Zarya main (on console anyway).

seriously.

This is so stupid. Excuses excuses excuses.

I knew this game was trouble when it walked in.

Glad you liked it. I think it’s fascinating too, and offers a different frame for thinking about what makes esports meaningful. In general, I love the idea of thinking about games and play as something beyond what we normally call games. Makes life a lot more fun. :)

The best way to kill something you love to do is to start getting paid to do it.

This was a nice, very good, well written article. Thank you very much.

Right now, my biggest worry is just how poorly Overwatch tends to translate to spectator viewing. Those who play the game will mostly be able to follow along, but I’m afraid casual viewers will just see complete chaos and be turned off by it. The replays and the color commentary are going to make or break this.

Just like the XFL, I’m looking forward to watching a game or two.

False: We actually have laws for incidents involving one person convincing another person to commit murder. It’s still murder. Fuck off.

Had he kidnapped them and forced them to eat the peppers, yes it would be child abuse. This is just a funny video.

Until e-sports drops the ridiculous gamer handle identifiers and acknowledges players by their actual birth names only, it’ll never be taken seriously.
