It’s a multiplayer shooter. That’s like trying to have an explanation for Ryu fighting Ryu in street fighter. You obviously don’t need one.

I get the appeal, but I’m still not much of a fan. Especially when they talk.

Thanks for expressing my feelings about it as well. The only part of streaming I can understand is maybe you’re a kid and don’t have money to buy all the games, so you just watch other people. As for adults, I don’t got time for that.

This is a totally different world of entertainment. It’s around something I enjoy doing - gaming, with a like-minded crowd (Most of the time). The interactivity is drawing. I got into it watching Destiny streaming because I was really curious if I wanted to buy a PS4 at the time for it.

Oddly, I used to watch my roommate play Silent Hill 2 and found that even though I knew the game, I enjoyed watching his play through for some reason (Like watching a repeat movie). But I also felt the accomplishments were shared when he achieved something.

Answer: For the same reason you watch strangers play football, watch strangers play basketball, and watch strangers pretend to be other people in movies and sitcoms. Because it is entertaining.

I am a cheap ass. I watch strangers play so I get to see the whole game without putting in work myself and pay for the game.

Also, I only watch no commentary play through. All the commentators on YouTube(where I only use) are obnoxious and annoying.

The only time I’ve really done this is to see new features of a game or to see if I want to buy a game and youtube searches are fruitless. I don’t really see the appeal to be honest.

I’ve never watched a streamer play games, I’ve got friends who do however I never found the appeal. I think it’s a waste of time honestly but to each his own.

They do. Mechanical doesn’t mean clicky. You can buy many mechanical keyboards with switches that are silent.

Looks pretty...N-Gaging.

Kotaku - a celebration of nerd culture, unless you dare to be physically fit in which case get the fuck out of our world you damned jock.

“Cassius Marsh is known for tackling ball carriers as a professional linebacker, but the Seattle Seahawk’s 6’4”, 245-pound frame recently proved entirely useless in the mental athletics of Magic: the Gathering.”

This is a terrible article.

Thank you, came here for this.

know what? - i’m really glad to see names from outside traditional geekery trying something inside geekery.

That’s what I’m saying. This is some school yard shit.

unathletic nerd writer gloating that a beefy pro athlete lost in a nerd thing

What’s with all the shade though?
