I played the entire game as a stealth shooter and had a blast with that playstyle. I would completely love to go back and do a playthrough as the old-school BJ Blazkowicz from a time when there was no such thing as a stealth game.

Considering there is next to no coherent story IN game for Destiny, you are totally good to just jump in fam. Fans and Youtube make a valient effort of piecing together what little in game story there is with the out of game codex (which itself, does have some fantastic stuff)....
But it is still just...meeeeeeh.
