Since no one else is here I’ll say I’m intrigued by this show but it almost seems like two movies spliced together. A traditional historical drama (with really good actors and a little Oliver Stone editing) mixed with a straight-up talking head documentary. Not sure I’m sold on it but I’ve got two more episodes to go…

I’ve always heard that adding livers gives the stock a bitter taste. I’ll usually simmer my livers separately and then snack on them.

Took a huge turkey carcass. Added some apple cider vinegar to the water. Filled the pot with bay leaves, carrots, celery, onions, garlic, thyme, peppercorns. Simmered it on the burner for 24 hours. Tasted it. Was missing something. Added some tomato paste. Simmered for another 24 hours. And it’s still missing…
