Nobody makes the same joke about the brothers because Donald Trump doesn’t say how hot they are and how he’d date them if they weren’t his sons. Context is important, its not sexism.

Didn’t know
News to me, won’t make that mistake twice
I totally would be. That’s the point I’m trying to make.
Like the recent outcry over the women-only Wonder Woman screening, the difference will lie in whether they actually excluded white people (i.e. if you’re white you’re barred from entering) or if it just isn’t for white people and therefore would be in bad taste for them to attend. The former is descrimination, and I…
I don’t know how I feel about this. While I 100% agree that female directors need more representation in Hollywood, this feels to me like the same logic behind the “I’m only going to read female authors” crowd. It feels like a smug, self-congratulatory gesture.
The Hill isn’t right wing, but its prone to publishing some pretty terrible opinion pieces, from both sides. Its selling point is that its a news source for what’s happening on Capital Hill. It ends up being fairly reliable when you’re looking for up-to-date info from congress.
I’m disappointed. This had all the ingredients of success: The Rock, Zac Efron in a doucebro comedy role (aka the best part of Neighbors) and the fact that 21 Jump Street exists as a near-perfect case study on how to do this sort of thing right. The trailer was good, even, enough to make you interested in seeing it.
They realize this, but do you have any idea how difficult it would be to put together one of these for every Netflix-active country? Chances are you have a locally-registered website that does this.
Same with Supernatural, which will be available on Friday!
I doubt it will focus just on Atticus. The book is a series of vignettes, ideal for HBO. I’ve seen a few articles about this so far that only refer to Atticus, primarily because that’s how the book’s premise is presented. To talk about the rest of the book is to spoil too much.
I didn’t know this show existed until I started seeing articles about how it was cancelled.
Yeah but no one was arrested. The school just decided not to endorce a version of the yearbook with that phrase.
It seems like all these guys being put forward as attractive with a unibrow are attractive DESPITE their unibrow
A lot of these rules made sense in context: many of the orthodox Jewish traditions are rooted in hygienic practices in Bronze/Iron age Israelite communities. This may very well be one of them. The problem is these traditions survived well beyond their necessity.
I totally felt this. There is a palpable sense of parody. The show is hilarious, well acted, and has an amazing story structure, but it feels like they’re making fun of being “woke” as much as they’re exploring black identity politics.
Counterpoint: I make fun of the appearance of Trump, Bannon, Sessions, Spicer, etc... And don’t make fun of the objectively beautiful Ivanka Trump’s appearance. So... Is it sexism is a monster LOOKS like a monster?
I hate this argument with a passion. It presupposes that these students had no idea who Betsy DeVos was and had never heard her ideas before, and were booing her not because of those ideas but because they were told by someone else that she’s bad, or something. Its insulting to their collective intelligence.
No one…
