Black Adam was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. Not one of the worst superhero movies, one of the worst movies in general.

I’m amazed at how committed Snyderverse fans are and from what I’ve read on Twitter and Reddit, it is almost all Snyder fans.

Young(er) Jack Sparrow was already based on an aging Keith Richards.

He’s almost at the point where his face has cracked enough where they could start writing Jack Sparrow as an aged supporting character as oppose to the zany lead pirate. Have him settle into a Keith Richards-thing.

Hope Johnny sees this!

Exactly, the role got flanderized.

How much did you get paid for this dickride?

Meh. Depp’s Jack Sparrow is never going to be as good as he was in the first Pirates movie, because that was the only Pirates movie that wasn’t written with his goofy Jack Sparrow affect in mind.

He’s going to say ‘okay here you go’ and post a video of himself literally stepping down off of a box.

I can’t believe how “politicized” every action of his has become in the last two years.

I wouldn’t be shocked if at some point soon they reveal that every movie review on this site since April has been written by an AI.

Lots of people think good writing “sounds” like this, but I tell my students that good writing—academic or otherwise—should sound like you, just a polished version of you. Limit unnecessary intensifiers and fill your writing with strong verbs, and that will boost the readability and style of almost any essay.

I think there’s a place for that, for sure, in the landscape of Hollywood. If anything, we’ve got a glut of disposable entertainment. Godzilla vs. Kong fits that bill, for example. A lot of comedies are entertaining but also the cinematic equivalent of empty calories. People still go see them and enjoy themselves. I

Yeah, I was kinda hoping we were over Chazelle.  Or at least over gushing over him.

I distinctly remember the slow realization that for as well as La La Land was constructed, Chazelle had absolutely nothing to actually say with it. So this doesn’t have me very excited.

cookie-cutter drop-waists and cliched finger waves

How great was Isla Rose Hall as young Poppy? She absolutely nailed it, front to back, from the sly enthusiasm to the “eat shit".
