Reminder that a person can have a doctorate and possibly be quite knowledgable in the field and not be smart in other ways

Without your review, I wouldn’t have ventured for an apple flavored coffee drink. I still might not since I also usually only drink black coffee. But apple is one of those flavors that I wouldn’t think would work with coffee. Kind of like that strawberry funnel cake thing they had over the summer.

Putting aside all the other awful shit, how in 20 fucking 17 does anyone still believe that what a woman is wearing makes any difference to whether a rapist is going to rape her? Ugh.

Eh... in that linked video statement she goes all ‘Yay, vaccines!’ and then runs down a bullet point list of pretty much all the anti-vax talking points:

Well then no one is an anti-vaxer, since they’re usually smart enough to start out with the words “I’m not an anti-vaxer, but...”

If she gets the permanent gig, I’ll probably never watch again. It’s already difficult enough without Alex, and I know those are tough shoes to fill, but unless they get someone who isn’t so openly problematic, the show is a big NO for me. As others have said, I don’t know that the ratings will sink too much either…

I mean... I guess less problematic but we can do better.  I like my hosts to not sexuality harass people OR slut shame, be a rape apologist, sell unlicensed brain pills and dance on the anti vax line.  You know, simple stuff.

The do your own research part is what pisses me off. Becuase the vast majority of us (myself included) should NOT be doing our own research into this sort of stuff. That’s exactly what leads people down internet rabbit holes, some of which contain all sorts of deadly misinformation. We should be trusting the people…
