If it’s in Licking County as I’d read elsewhere, it’s a good choice. Dow Chemical used to have an R&D center near Granville, and the place is a suburb of Columbus. Good access, high potential to widen roads for traffic if necessary, and a nearby city that’s staid, underrated, and could use an infusion of chaos. XD

A spectrum analyzer can reliably detect very very low amounts above background. The one I use at work can pick out -90dBm peaks from a -100dBm background (which is really REALLY low, 10^(-12) Watts).

It’s pretty easy to detect microwave radiation with a spectrum analyzer and a laptop. I have considerable doubts that’s what it is.

Totally agreed.  I don’t have that specific background, but I have done CFD modeling of phase changes in chaotic and highly nonlinear systems. I feel the complexity in my bones, and have utmost respect for the folks that do weather analyses for a living.

Also, another reason why the predictions are so bad is that we weren’t sending up weather satellites to replace those ending their useful lifetimes, because the Senate wouldn’t approve their appropriations in the NOAA budget. Because climate change, or some such.
