There's nothing in the descriptions of either show that says the main characters would be white, except that they're being developed by white people (which isn't a good sign). And with the line "diverse group of oddball freelancers" makes me worry that you might get some 2 Broke Girls/Dads-style racial stereotypes.

I made the same mistake and read them too. I need to do something to restore my faith in humanity.

In one of the linked articles, Lindy shares four examples of rape jokes that she feels "work". Not that they're "right," they work because they're making fun of rapists/rape culture, not rape victims. It's why, in general, jokes about George Zimmerman are funny but jokes about Trayvon Martin are offensive.

Thank you! I even looked at her name in the credits, but still couldn't place her.

What I don't get is how the other co-hosts can sit there with her every day and not confront her on her bullshit theories. And if I was a celebrity guest on the show, like Jennifer Garner or someone, and Whoopi's all, "Jennifer, tell us what it's like being married to Ben Affleck and which holiday-inspired romcom by

Urinal cakes?

Huh. This seems like a very productive use of time and resources.

Yes, but that's after the fact. How can NJ put up the question "Should we ban same-sex marriage?" on a ballot when the state courts have already said, "You can't."

That's exactly like the Oscars. It's voted by an Academy of members, not the general public. The taste of those two groups don't always align.

Disregarding how shitty it is that we try to put individual citizens' rights up for a vote, how is it possible to put up a vote for something that has already been determined to be unconstitutional by the courts?

Technically, not a lie, but I went on a first date with a guy and we started talking about family traditions and weddings came up. He said something about Polish weddings and I asked, "Are you Polish?" "No." "Have you been to a Polish wedding? Whose? When?" "Uh...mine." In all our online exchanges, he never mentioned

Mutually-assured destruction.

It was at a Fred Meyer in Spokane, Washington. I've never noticed something like that there before.

The latest issue of Cosmo (the one at the top of the article with Miranda Kerr) was covered up with a piece of black plastic at my local grocery store.

The girl in this instance is 16. You think she should be lumped in with a pregnant 9 or 10-year-old?

Just like TRAP laws, parental consent laws make it harder for women to obtain legal, safe abortions under the guise of "protecting women."

People can say anything they want about themselves in their profile, whether it's true or not. I'm just surprised that people don't put their best self forward or self-reflect at all.

You're sending a gift?!

I was going to leave the same exact comment, down to raising the cultural offensiveness of costume!

Not always. Maybe they saw your message, but didn't have time to look at your profile before responding. When I was active, though, I don't think I would go more than three days without responding to a message. Any longer than that means they probably aren't going to reply.
