I realised when they got to the "will you go out to dinner with me" bit that I actually miss the crappy cam versions of Comic Con trailers where you could hear the screams from the crowds.

The turtle-mode foetus in that gif freaked me right out.

Not averse to the cell-shaded look, Wind Waker and Appleseed have primed me, and it isn't a stylistic departure from Ghibli's output in terms of design. It also seems to me that it's a decision of convenience to ensure fluid animation on the small screen. The backgrounds also make up for it.
