Duuuuude, the world noticed this when 10 Things I Hate About You came out. You have 13 years of being weirded out to catch up on!

I always think of the series as unrealistic (because it is, and it's supposed to be) but naturalistic.
In an alternate universe Christian Bale played the Joker to Heath Ledger's Batman.
"Hard to imagine now"
Alice Eve?
They've said the character will be familiar to those who've seen TOS.
SPOILER: That is what happens in the comic. But I'm inclined to agree with your assessment, it makes sense that Nero was introduced in a comics prequel and that Gary Mitchell is too. Or at least that there's a link, somehow.
No, but I have needed to refresh the page a couple times to get it to show up. It's damn annoying, it's literally the only thing that keeps me commenting, they screwed up the comments section SO badly. It's idiotic.
I'm not a fan of the suit, but I can probably get past my issues with the design. There are like three other things I'm just as unsure about with the movie and Zack Snyder is one of them.
Sucker Punch is easily one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I'm always flabbergasted that it has such staunch defenders.
I'm hoping Nolan has been relatively hands-on as a producer. I can only imagine he picked Snyder because he thought he could put his visual style to good use and reign in his bad habits.

I HEARD YOU'RE BROCCOLI
It's an adaptation that transposes an Asian story to a nation that is partially comprised of people of Asian descent who are marginalized in Hollywood. It's hard to see the merit in casting white American actors almost exclusively, but the merit in casting an Asian American actor or two in leading roles is readily…
I like MCD as Kingpin story, because the thought process for casting him was 'we need a white Michael Clark Duncan...waitaminute!'
I think it's hard for people to group this with the likes of The Departed or the American Godzilla or whatever, even if it is transposed to New York, just because of all the little instances of changing the race of characters that has bothered people.
Not being funny, Carlos Ken Santos sounds like a dope character, you should get on that pronto!
You'd struggle to make that argument for Kaneda. Some Miyazki movies that are complete fantasies set in make believe Europe, sure. Even some other anime where the leads are really stylized with non-Asian names and background characters are more easily ethnically identifiable. But Kaneda looks plenty Asian and his name…
