I would argue that “data analysis” and “number crunching” are very good pocket skills to have.

I use the same kind of thing for decluttering the garage: if I haven’t used it in a year, then I don’t need to hold onto it. That includes small lengths of wire, spare car parts, boxes for things that are obviously working so I won’t need a box to return them in...

Heh, so you’re saying that Windows and MacOS users are not tech-savvy?

I’m looking at doing one of these, but I actually have an operational and fully armed 17" laptop (not really: no keyboard, touchpad, or case), which means a Linux other than RasPi... so I’m wondering how much I will have to change code (I’m a hardware guy, not a software guru).

That backlit keyboard doesn’t help any, either.

I think “tossing off” is definitely the best term here.

The Simpsons did everything. It’s not even a joke anymore.

I watch no television, and announce that at the beginning of any such conversations. That tends to derail conversations quickly.

If those same people were pushing for heirloom varieties rather than generic “organic”, then it would be a good thing.

Actually, the Yeti are fracking.

But there’s a solution when too many books are being printed in the world and you don’t have time to read every one: Just don’t read them.
