The swirly air makes me wonder if this could be done with a Wankel engine to make it burn fuel more efficiently. Make the air swirly at the intake and see if the efficiency increases.

Probably not. If you have an efficient combustion chamber and cam timing, not at all. Most bike engines are up to 13.1- and can run on 87 all day. ( They may make you use “good” gas just because it usually more consistant.)

Nope, Toyota tends to tune for 87 octane rotgut, and these are no exception. (Well, 90 RON rotgut, and 87 AKI is roughly equivalent to 91 RON.)
