I was never really a Saab fan. The looks never appealed to me. Except for this last gen 9-5, because it looks like the Aero X concept. I remember when I first saw the Aero at the Chicago Auto Show. I was really impressed. You can see it’s design elements in the 9-5.

After watching the episode of Wheeler Dealers where they restored one of these (S11E5), I fell in love with those sweet, sweet tail lights. While the rest of the car is kind of bland, those tail lights give me the feels. I think they look much better than the triangular tail lights that followed on the Coupe.

Imagine pulling up to a hotel or restaurant in one of these. There is no way to not look like a douche, no matter how humble you are.

I’m a big enthusiast of aviation and an even bigger car enthusiast, but these conventions make me sick. Weapons on display, like jewelry, designed to kill people better, faster, cheaper.
