Put on leave after two were reportedly injured, including 64-year-old a broken leg, internal bleeding and possibly a back injury. State police apparently looking into whether this should be considered a hate crime.

If this piece leads even one person to google “fromunda,” it will have served its purpose.
Given that some millennials are already pushing 40, I’d say the thesis was pretty dumb too.
Yes; terrible headline. I had the same reaction.
I actually covered high school football in Texas for a good 15 years, and I’ve come to the depressing realization that the majority of coaches that I otherwise had a ton of respect for probably did indeed vote for Trump.
Yup. As one of my professors in journalism school used to stress, the onus of comprehension lies with the writer, not the reader. So if you’re getting that level of pushback, that’s your bad, not anybody else’s.
“The problem is that its two big hooks are “a superhero turns evil!” and “a superhero dies!” Those were novel and shocking turns in 1980, when people actually thought these sort of things meant a permanent change.”
This had bomb written all over it from almost the word go. How many movies get delayed multiple times, with the entire ending reportedly re-shot, and turn out to be any good?
I think it’s mainly down to Kinberg rather than the fans; not only was it his favorite story as a kid, he’s said he felt a ton of frustration at being forced to relegate it to the B plot in Last Stand. So, as writer, director and producer, this was his opportunity to make it right.
Yup. It was very similar to the whole Sansa/Arya/Littlefinger storyline, when they tried to sell us that the sisters were at legitimate odds in order to pull an “oh SHIT” when their real intent was revealed. It made for a great surprise, but good storytelling? Absolutely not.
Well, according to his dad...
Billy Haisley strikes again.
You deserve a commendation for this civic service. How many do you have down there?
Both. About a year ago, I almost plowed into a pack of kids tooling around on them who blew through an intersection against a green light. That’s before you get into the mere inconvenience of seeing this army of derelict scooters on the street. (At one point I counted about 25 in plain sight on my block alone.)
E-X-A-C-T-L-Y. If this was a bunch of hobbyists doing something for fun, entirely across the board, that would be one thing.
Midtown/Downtown Atlanta is the same. They’re fucking everywhere.
Absolutely. I only ever took that as a clever little nod. I wasn’t wild with the motivation they came up with, but sticking with the comic would have been awful. I’m actually skimming back through the original Infinity Gauntlet right now, and while the overall concept is great, the story itself sucks. Thanos is a…
Definitely an issue, especially as they go even further. It’s a big problem with the comics, too, and the main reason why they end up re-booting everything so regularly. The mythology gets to be so dense that it can be really intimidating/off-putting to newcomers. It will be interesting to see how Marvel handles this…
The mafia wishes it had a racket like college sports.
Besides, it wasn’t even Cosell that made MNF what it was. Back before cable it was THE showcase game, not only the crown jewel of the weekly NFL schedule but also a must-watch for the halftime highlights of everything that happened on Sunday. (How quaint is that?) Hell, even when I was a kid in the 80s and ESPN was…
