I think its the smaller but more dense and rich. Valhalla is a vast landscape of mostly nothing. Sure many of the side quests are entertaining, but a lot of the time its big for bigs sake. 

And the problem is, a big, open-world GAAS title that requires constant content release will only ENCOURAGE bloat.  Because adding more generic fetch quests and objects to the existing map will be much easier than adding story content, with writing and voice acting.

Seconded. But “you can play VR using the PS5 console you already have” is still a good selling point, I’d say it’s part of the reason the first PSVR did well.

If it can’t be used standalone, it’s a wasted opportunity. The VR landscape absolutely needs a Quest competitor and it's troubling that there aren't any on the horizon. Being able to run last-gen PSVR games natively would be such a huge get.
