FADE IN

I’m clearly biased, but yes! It has its fair share of bullshit fetch quests, but some of the story ideas are legitimately cool and its emphasis on discovery and exploration gives it a Star Trek patina

People believe in a great many things despite overwhelming contrary evidence irl, tho, so it should boil down to how good they are at role playing that kind of willful ignorance

This like when my friend wanted to play an atheist in D&D, it just didn't fit the story well to pretend like there wasn't some pretty compelling evidence for the existence of gods in the D&D world, like them talking to people and walking the planet constantly

Having played and scoured those planets more than once in the past I have zero compunctions about pulling up a website full of maps of every unexplored world in ME1 so I can just drive straight to the points of interest.

It sounded better in French.

de Fondaumière reportedly looked at the judges and asked, “But I’m not under oath, so can I lie?””

Smooth.

I dunno, maybe this is my British heritage shining through, but some kind of...line?”

Considering the miniscule 660Gb of drive space available on the PS5, its a lot of admin if you already have a few games installed. And definitely more of a “mess” when compared to the Xbox side of things.

the xbox one also had the baggage that was kinect so that was a whole different beast. now though the xbox one OS is far superior to the PS4 or PS5 (mainly because microsoft has kept updating it while Sony really doesn’t change much.)

Right, but that's still a PS4 game, you just happen to be playing on a PS5. That's not an issue, it's just when the game is updated to be a PS5 game that is an issue.

It doesn’t sound difficult, just not terribly respectful of the amount of drive space you’ve got allocated, and your time. Considering it’s 2021, something like this should be seamless to implement. MS seems to have figured it out.

Yeah, but in the outtakes, Kermit is clearly seen walking around wearing a white hood.

You’re gonna have someone making some loose allegorical connection to something in reality no matter how fake it all is.

it’s actually really difficult to avoid any connections to real world beliefs: By the time the story has a political component to its conflict, there’s an implicit debate about how society is structured. If the game wants to avoid making a statement about real world politics in doing so, it has to do one of:
1) Make

How would one pick the protagonist (good guy) and the antagonist (bad guy) without making a political statement?

I don’t think you can make any type of art without referencing the world in some way. And as we should know everything is political... but companies making products that also happen to be art avoid trying to nail down an ideology so that they don’t get critiqued for said ideology... they want their product to be as

That is such fuckin’ bullshit. If you’re telling a story about fascist regimes, doesn’t matter if it’s fictional or not, you’re making a commentary on the nature of fascist regimes.

This notion that you can take highly political situations and just opt out of making a political statement means you’re not being political is eyerolling. It doesn’t have to be a grand political statement. No one is arguing they should be putting out some sort of philosophical treatise or anything. But when you make a

Seriously. Can’t a company make a game about overthrowing a fascist government in Not Cuba without people asking if there are any statements about the real world. Not Cuba isn’t even a real place. DUH!
