So who AXED you?

It amuses me how back in the 50s and 60s when computers were still a new mysterious concept, episodes like The Old Man in the Cave could be pulled off without anyone questioning the logistics behind them. Today we'd be wondering how the hell a computer could be powered and serviced from a cave for ten years, and how

But can you play a guitar like you're ringing a bell?

My first was either Revenge of the Nerds or Bachelor Party, I don't remember which. Although my friends and I watched my VHS copy of the latter almost until it was worn out, giggling like madmen all the while like we were doing the most forbidden act imaginable. It was the equivalent of sneaking Playboy issues out of

Thank you, Nelson. I look forward to hearing it again next week.

I'm going to my first-ever Fetlife "play party" tomorrow night, specifically for newbies and beginners like myself. Any advice or helpful tips, what to expect, etc?
(Serious question, I hope it came across that way.)

Hey, Walter… wanna balloon?

It’s been a lot of years, but from what I remember what it suffered from was a
profound misunderstanding of what made the original WKRP work—deadbeat,
occasionally dark humor, mixed with some drama. The new show leaned more toward
slapstick and farce. I remember once episode where the aforementioned Jack and
Dana got

I totally disagree and I always have. Loni Anderson was my first-ever crush, and I still think she was beyond gorgeous on this show. I was actually disappointed the day she married Burt Reynolds. Jan Smithers was attractive and all, but HOTTER than Loni Anderson??? I just don't get how anyone could possibly think that.

Yup—Michael Des Barres, who went on to play the male half of the feuding husband-and-wife morning team Jack and Dana. I remember far too much of the New WKRP than could be considered healthy.

Afraid not—I didn't read it online, it was in another book. I'll let you know which one if I can find it.

I enjoyed Blaze a lot. I remember reading about what it was like originally, back when King first wrote it, and comparing that to how much of it he changed once it was finally published, thirty or so years later, was pretty interesting.

It's now a Dunkin' Donuts.

Absolutely. I read that opening sequence from Cell when it was excerpted in Entertainment Weekly, and I was totally hooked—based on that I figured the book would be all sorts of awesome. Then I read the book, and my excitement levels got lower and lower with every page, and they never recovered.

Well, I got the impression that the chips only came into play when it was a given that sex
was gonna happen. It’s not a question of “We’re having sex tonight, period!”
Just what kind of sex, is all.

Sounds right. Not a bad plan, really, and I wish it had been suggested back when Mrs. Ghost was still around. Fun would have been had..

And I remember reading about that one scene being pretty expensive to make, too… plus it looked awkward and terrible.

There was also Dr. Kroeger on Monk. Stanley Kamel suffered a heart attack, so his character did as well, and the episode that memorialized him also introduced his replacement Dr. Bell (Hector Elizondo). As much as I hate to say it, I preferred Dr. Bell—Monk's scenes with Kroeger were just achingly dull.

So I'm really curious now— is anyone familiar with those turkey legs? Are they really the park's most popular food? (They look delicious, so I'm disappointed I missed out.)

I was wondering how they managed to film inside the park without every second person gawking and looking into the camera. Must have been difficult.
