I couldn’t find yours, and the others were also less logical to me than sirdrawsalot. Care to explain in more detail? Hell, even copy/paste your response from below?

Fair enough. I was basing my comment of what I read in this article, I never really saw much of his comments because they were drowned out by all the other comments on FB when the pictures came across my feed.
Every car I’ve owned prevents you from using recirculate with defrost, but otherwise I’m on board with your system!
One thing that was never clear to me about these... could you leave the bedcovers on with the glass in-place and the midgate down and sleep with your feet in the bed and head in the back-seat area?
From what I’ve read (not an expert), this stuff is nearly impossible to dig down into to bury a spare because it fills in nearly as fast as you dig it out. It’d be like digging down to wet sand at the beach. You’d never get the hole big enough to bury the spare and if you did, you’d NEVER get it out due to the suction.
Please expound. As an naive third party (I live in the Midwest where Playa mud isn’t a thing), from my perspective, sirdrawsalot seems to be much more knowledgeable than you based on his response.
I don’t think he ever bragged about it. He was very humbled, in fact. He knew he made a mistake, owned up to it, and was only on social media to try and get himself and his vehicle recovered quickly.
It’s a fine line between waiting until the lake is dry and recovering it ASAP. The vehicle could cause even more…
Being underpowered is about the safest thing this rig has going for it. The lack of properly sized brakes and poor hitch connection are incredibly dangerous.
Sadly I don’t think you’re correct :(
Indeed. I have a dark blue 99-02 front end GMT800 truck and have always wanted the 01-02 HD hood on mine. I found a white one of these hoods for $100 once and kept it in storage until I had the funds to paint it... but it was low priority.
Also had numerous craigslist and FB posts to see if anyone wanted to trade hoods…
That originally could have been from a white commercial vehicle or service truck that was cheaply painted yellow only on the outside surfaces to match a company or government color.
Everything else mentioned in the article doesn’t bug me EXCEPT the air tank.
If you’re me, it’s more like: “Why not neither.” :(
The people I don’t understand are those who are “standing”, but hunched over in their window seats. I understand wanting to stand in the aisle to stretch out, especially if you’re over 6' and were cramped the entire flight... but I don’t understand standing in the uncomfortable hunched position.
If it’s circling the airport, at least if something bad happens they can land on a runway. If it crashes elsewhere, the likelihood of survival is far lower.
Hopefully (as a Fuse engineer myself), the fuse finally did it’s job before fire ensued. Still sounds like the fuse was improperly sized or the system had no fuse and something else decided to be the fusing component that opened the circuit. Yikes.
Well he’s not going to bring a steak knife to an airport is he???
Definitely looks like a wiring grommet to me. Perhaps the base model doesn’t have the wiring, but an uptrim model or Z06/ZR1 will?
If it wasn’t lowered, most of that stuff would fit under the bed. The point is the fact that a “cool” EV truck can be made. GM just keeps the EV pot stirring so they can stay relevant (especially important to investors who are screaming about Ford/Rivian EV pickup trucks).
