How would the Dad know the other passengers are pushing and shoving? He should already be down at the bottom of the slide helping other people off the slide. Which is the whole reason the FA asked him to move. How many Dad’s do you know are going to leave their family behind and hope that they are right behind them

Gold wouldn’t be worth much if everyone could make money by pissing. I sort of wonder how profitable robotaxi/self driving cars will be when there are a half dozen companies providing it. Feels like you will hit a rapid race to the bottom and be in a very low margin bussiness.

Dealers were also the winners of the autobubble that just popped. They got that added dealer mark up on tons of cars instead of the automaker.

I am not sure it will even have that much value. This is going to be a one off from a company that went nowhere. It would be like a GM/Ford competitor in 1905 who made a couple dozen motorcoaches and folded.

There are 1.7m instances of people not being able to do the simple task of not hitting the car right in front of them. Humans aren’t very good at driving. The problem is that robots aren’t better right now. Maybe in 10 years. Things like driving are absurdly hard where you need like 99.999% reliability to be useful.

Nah tons of fights don’t get prosecuted. Odds are it is just a dude that hasn’t thrown a punch in their life. Go look at most major sporting event fights where people are throwing punches and never connecting.

Well the discounts are getting pretty massive....  The question is always going to be what are the odds of this making say 3/5 years in runnable condition in case you get zero dollars when you want to get rid of it....

Yeah that is my question. Can minors really get ubers? Seems pretty sketchy. But this girl had two drivers pick her up...

I am not sure if I would rather a half baked AI or a half baked driver. Motorcyclists being killed by semis is a pretty regular occurrence. You would hope a good sensor suite would do better than humans but who knows.

Would you rather be killed by a human driving a semi or an AI driving a semi? Lets not pretend that semi’s driven by humans aren’t killing thousands/year. The question is which one will kill less on the specific routes.

Specialized stuff is optimal if you do enough work to justify it.  For a lot of tasks it is cheaper to use generalized hardware with software optimized for your job. Now if that Tesla bot is ever going to be general enough is a whole different question. And there are tons of hybrid options where you do say  arm that

Isn’t depreciation largely an issue of the run up in car prices in 2021-2022? I am guessing with ICEs they were sort of protected by contracts to buy cars at MSRP (or some discount off msrp) and avoided the dealer mark ups but I wouldn’t be surprised with teslsa if they were buying cars more at MSRP and got nailed by

How many of these people were involved in supercharger build outs versus developing new chargers? I could see them saying the charger is good enough and slash research& development and just focus on deployment.

Doesn’t matter if it is assembled well if the design is flawed/has teething issues. I wouldn’t be surprised if Fisker is doing 1/10th the testing mileage of a more mature maker...

It depends on the size of the space. The marked street spaces are normally pretty easy with like 3' to work with. Start dropping that to under a 1' and it gets tricky. Granted I doubt the AI is that aggressive at going for the tight fits.

Sure but you don’t need trains where people don’t live. The whole east coast is basically Eurodensity. West coast isn’t quite as high but it is still probably viable.

Everyone says that until they get that one neighbor.....

If the grid was ready, people would be bitching about spending billions on a product that we will not need for a decade. The grid will evolve along with the needs. Last I checked most power companies are planning for this future.

The TCO of EVs is lower. But for a lot of people paying 5k up front to save 1k/year is a tough sell. See things like https://insideevs.com/reviews/576032/model-3-vs-accord-cost/ . You can sub in your own numbers and assumptions.
